Our lone highlight from our two home playoff games this year.

Monday's game will be interesting to say the least. Hopefully our fans won't throw trash on the ice if we lose.

Last year I was 100% sure if we got Chicago back to the Bridge for game 7 we would have won that series.

Not so much this year...

Cheers!

So you are a Ducks fan in Birmingham, Alabama?? How did that come about?

I've only been in AL a few years, been a Ducks fan since almost the beginning. You see a jeep with the #PaintItOrange decals all over the back in town, its me

Smith was at the optional skate today so could possibly play tomorrow.

Sad when we are looking for Craig Smith to save us...lol....but so true. We could really use him in the lineup come next game as long as the injury doesn't affect him too much. We need his speed, tenacity to go after the puck, and his consistent scoring touch.

I know you're kidding, but he was what, our number 3 goal scorer? It's not really that surprising we could use him back; the almost complete lack of scoring from our 1st line is, though. in reality, relying on our D to make up for deficiency in our secondary scoring is really biting us in the fanny.

The reason why we've lost the last three games is really simple. We won the first two games because of the Ducks were concentrating on the wrong things and not playing nearly their best hockey. Also, they had that godawful Gibson in net who let in so many softies. Now they've turned to Andersen who has been great, not perfect, but waay better than Rinne.

After the Ducks went 0-2 they started to play their best hockey the way they can do, that is why they were the best team post-Christmas. Post-Christmas the Ducks are 20-1 with Andersen. We've not played bad but the truth is that we are not even close to the level the Ducks are. Again, we drew the best team in our conference. I think they'll win the Western Conference. The Ducks in 6, my bracket thanks me.

20-1 ??? Wow. That's unbelievable and really puts things in perspective.

We need to score more than 2 goals and we need Pekka to be special tonight for the win. I'll be there cheering as usual but I have my doubts that we can get the planets to align for this one.

I thought the same thing... until last night. He isn't 100% and was noticeably slower, but was still effective. Thought his skillset even in a limited capacity allowed us to roll three dangerous lines. Having Wilson and Fisher on the 3rd line with a diminished 2nd line of Smith and Ribs was more effective than Willy and Ribs on the 2nd with Sissons or Salo filling in on the 3rd. The younger guys just don't have the savvy or experience that Smith has, even at 75%.

Yeah, when I saw him skating in pregame, he did not look good at all. I thought we might be making a big mistake- with the Bass injury we could have been down 2 forwards if he couldn't finish the game.

But he made it through ok, and hopefully he will be even closer to 100% tomorrow.

Sad to report I saw some drunk, jerk Preds fan who didn't look like his family tree forked enough, cuss out out a guy that was in a Detroit jersey on the concourse last night. We all like to pretend we don't have those guys in our fanbase, but I definitely saw one last night. (Note for opposing fanbases: that's the first time in many, many years of attending Preds games that made me embarrassed at the actions of a Preds fan)

Fortunately, I think the cops escorted him out of the building a short while later.

It shouldn't feel normal to act that way ever. Poor sportsmanship is poor sportsmanship at any time.
It's the emotions of the thing really.

The thing I always enjoyed about being a hockey fan is often the release you can get at games from screaming at the opposing team and the refs while imbibing a beverage or three. It's tempered around children of course; but sometimes its that break from reality for a ticket holder for a few minutes or even hours with the 'mob' can help you to recharge. It's one of the reasons I had season tickets for 7 years. I'm not going to mame anyone; but words and gestures aren't stick and stones either unless someone takes it too far like we've seen with travelling Hawks and Blues fans for example.

At the end you shake hands and have no hard feelings because everything is out in the open and given. It's why the handshake line is so fitting in the Stanley Cup Playoffs after a hard fought series. It's a metaphor of how we should conduct ourselves after the war has been won or lost and move on.

You are an enormous loser if you wear a jersey of a team that isn't even playing in the game. Just throwing that out there.

People do it all the time for various reasons. Some people want to wear something hockey related and that is nearly all they have. Others own multiple jerseys and want to show them off.

So I can get a flight to LAX and back for $383 leaving today and coming back Thursday. God I wish I had money laying around.

That's just the flight, not the rental car, not the hotel, not the food/drinks, and not the tickets.
