Laine looks to be playing a lot better than he was during the regular season. Puck support, comes deeper in his own zone to pressure the boards when necessary, but not so much as to leave his dman wide open. Not to mention he's already gotten a few chances on goal. Overall, he's looking night and day from the lazy uninspired play he showed for most of the season.

Saw a very interesting post from someone in our forum which suggested that a partial variable in the upsets of highly skilled teams like Tampa or Pittsburgh is how the number of power plays (almost certainly) drops from the regular season to the playoffs.

I'm inclined to agree with that sight-unseen and, if it's correct, I wouldn't be surprised if that's something that just needs to be accounted for.
