Such a tease by the Caps the last 5 minutes of the game. I'm not mad at the boys. They had one of the most brutal road trips ever banged up and did great. Can't wasted losing 2 pts to Montreal though. Take those teams seriously.

Can’t fault the effort. They were without 5 of their top 8 forwards and can’t win them all. Hopefully Oshie, Sheary, and Eller will be available Wednesday but hard to be upset after what they showed in the 3rd and on this road trip. This is a really good and well coached team, hopefully we’ll get to see them at full strength by the end of the season.

Oh well is was only a matter of time until we had a game like this. We didn't start playing until the 3rd period. Too many guys out and too many games in such a short period. 7 games in 11 days with 3 back to backs. That's a tough schedule.

They're a little bit green. They have the right reflexes defensively and they make smart plays, but none of them have a nose for the net yet. McMichael in particular looks like he hasn't figured out how to score at the NHL level yet.

Backstrom out of the lineup is the difference. He is much better than Kuzy on the half wall. Kuzy's strength is entering the zone with control.

It would have been really easy for the Caps to quit on the game after two periods. Instead, they came pretty close to tying it. No quit.

At the same time, an impressive win for Seattle. This might be just the kind of win they need to turn their season around. No way that team is as bad as their record.
