Lee with a nice play. But then Larmi messed up behind the net and THE Matt Moulson scored an easy one.

Larmi should be called Laramie. Then when he gets scored on we can say lit up and smoked

Pens certainly getting out worked. But they're going back on the PP now.

Cam Lee is a magician. No goal on the PP.

Larmi stops a semi-breakaway after it expired.

Schaller scored off a rush from the left circle. Nice.

End of the first. Larmi, with the exception of the goof, looked decent again.

Lee looked good in game 1 outside of one brutal shift that was just him trying to do too much and getting burned.

He's been having some issues in the d-zone today. Like just now. Turned it over trying to be too cute and the Bears almost scored.

Bellerive with a breakaway but the puck was bouncing. And then he flubbed the shot. And then took a penalty?

Annnnnnd the Bears score on their PP. Dude just walked in. Larmi had no chance.

4 on 4 for a wee bit. Pens to go on a PP after. Zohorna with a great forecheck on the 4 on 4. Made them turn it over and then drew a penalty. 4 on 3 PP for a little. 5 on 3 now. Drozg just hit the post. Then Shulkie (sp?) did too. And then Currie hit the post too?! No goal on the PPs.

Pens headed to another PP after Lizotte drove to the net.

Miletic must be injured?

WBS with a great PK/Hershey with a terrible PP.

Larmi still looking good.

Looks like Bellerive has been playing some LW this season.

And I'm done. It's NHL Pens time. WBS has 12 minutes left in the third.

I've watched 2 periods of this last game.
Lee is their best player. Dude is all over the ice.
Almeida looks like a more determined player or a better pro now.

I'll be watching.

Duuuuuuude, Zohorna got the puck in the neutral zone and just zoomed right in there and scored. Not the best goal to give up but a nice play by Big Z.

That sucks. He was pretty productive over in Sweden this season. Second league, but still.

POJ-Marino
Lee-???
Petts-???

As of right now, Lee still needs work in the d-zone to be anything higher than a 3rd pairing, powerplay specialist. That looks doable though.

Goal was credited to Drozg. He may had tapped it in.

Pens on a 4 minute penalty kill...

POJ-Marino

Petts-???

Should things work out (they never do), I'd go with:

POJ-Marino
Pettersson-Maniscalco
Lee-Reilly

Miller, a LD, just stick checked his man way too far on to the right side of the ice. Other than that, I think he's done pretty well in the 3 games I've seen him in.

Larmi stuffs SYR's leading scorer (#12) on a breakaway.

WBS defense breaks down and leaves #12 uncovered near the left circle. Tied at 1.

Can't say I noticed Lee til the last minute in the period. But he created two scoring chances.

I still think that first goal is Zohorna's.

End of 1.

Other Lee highlight.

time to pin all our hopes and dreams on him.

Lee was another nice find by Rutherford. Pettersson, Marino, POJ, and Lee all added since 2019 and all look to have top 4 type ability and 22 or younger at time of getting them. For all the crap Rutherford gets about leaving the team with a bad prospect pool I think this is overlooked. How many teams have added 4 prospect aged defensman to their club better than that group? Doing this all while trying to win now mode is even more impressive. Added some nice young forwards also during that time such as McCann, Kapanen, and O'Connor.

Zohorna also is an interesting prospect that Rutherford brought in and really improved his numbers overseas this year before coming over to WBS. Je definitely fits the "long pants" narrative this team talks about now so he might be with the Pens shortly if he keeps developing upwards like the past two years.

I think this is putting a lot on Lee after 2 games and change. Rutherford has definitely been trying to add youth and has some success but that’s a lot to put on Lee and he’s 23, almost 24, ftr. Off to a promising start but it’s a miniscule sample size.
