Search threads titles with Sobotka, there's only a few, and thought this one would be the funnest.

I was on the other side of the world when he was traded to St. Louis back then so I couldnt tell you who we traded for him I just knew he came from Boston. Thats why I had no clue as to what was going on.

I want BOTH for The Blues. Backes, Stastny, Sobotka and LaPierre as the 4 centres. Then, Roy won't be re-signed, and Jaskin will have a spot next season. Berglund will be better on the wing, as we all have seen, and many of us had predicted/suspected.

Don't get me wrong, I don't disagree. I just don't see him getting the money he will get in FA from us.

True, but when you can return to your home town, and play for one of the 5 top Stanley Cup contenders (the one with the best-looking short-term future), you might well give up $3 million, which you might make up in endorsements, anyway, if your new team wins The Cup once or twice.

I'm sold on Sobotka. I'm a believer. I about spit coffee all over my computer....not nice...

Stastny is a professional athlete. I cannot fault them for taking every dime they can when they can. With that being said, I don't see Stastny being here next year unless he takes some kind of home town discount. Some team in need of a center that needs scoring will break the bank with him. It sounds great, but....

This. Sobotka is a Hitchcock type player, he's not going anywhere.

On the never ending Stastny saga, it's very unlikely the Av's would trade Stastny the the Blues at the deadline now that they are in the same division. And don't think the AV's have forgotten about being fleeced by Armstrong either trading EJ, McClement, and a 1st ( Siemonds ) to the AV's for Shatty, Stewart and a 2nd ( Rattie ) 3 years ago.

David Warsofsky has played some games for The Bruins this season, and to my mind, didn't look out of place in The NHL game. We had some posters here state that he was too small, and not fast enough, nor skilled enough to ever get near The NHL. But, it looks like he might be a decent prospect for becoming a decent 3rd/end pairing "tweener" and PP specialist.

Colorado didn't get fleeced. With their high powered offensive players, Stewart was expendable, and EJ was a desperately needed commodity. It was a good trade for both sides. As for Stastny, I don't really think the talk is about trading for him. I think most of the talk is about trying to sign him through free agency.
