Ugh... can't root for the Kings, but can't root against Vinny. What to do, what to do.
Lecavalier started in a fourth-line center role with the Kings, but by Sunday he had moved up to the third line, between veteran goal-scoring wingers Dustin Brown and Marian Gaborik.
“Ever since he came in,’’ center Anze Kopitar said Sunday, “he has done a lot for us. Maybe it doesn’t show on the scoresheet, but it’s those little plays that he makes, and he takes a lot of the faceoffs, especially in our zone. It’s very nice to have him.’’
“I’m feeling good,’’ Lecavalier said. “(Saturday), it was just nice to get that first one out of the way. … It was a long time since I scored, and it was just nice to get it in. It builds confidence. After something good happens, your confidence builds. You hold the puck a little longer and you make good decisions.’’
