What is even the point of a deal like this? I feel like it has to do with contracts?

Amerks just gave up 10 goals today. Maybe the trigger? Seems like quick turn around if that's the case though.

From Buffalo: Varone (good AHL forward), Akeson (good AHL forward), Leduc (bad AHL D), (conditional pick?)

To Buffalo: O'dell (good AHL forward), Schneider (good AHL forward), Sdao (bad AHL D), good ECHLer

Seems like just a change for everyone. What a trade!

Just trying to piece together the impetus for this trade... Sens shed a contract, wonder if that was important? But would only matter if they're looking to add 3 or more players by season's end.

Sabres/Rochester seem to improve up front by adding to good AHL scorers. I would say they downgrade on D going from JGL to a dude that's only played 17 games but... how much of a downgrade can you have from JGL?

Is there one particular player this all could've been about?

Any of our bigger Amerk followers (Sabrefan27) have any insight on Rochester's outlook after this trade?

Wow big deal that you do not see often. Like the trade though. Kind of new starts for all players involved. Kind of seems all the players involved probably needed new opportunities as they weren't getting them in their situations. Maybe Murray has some good insight to these guys as well.

Schneider was from Buffalo originally? Surprised he went to UConn rather than one of the Buffalo schools as UConn was an Atlantic Hockey bottom feeder at the time.

Going to be funny when fans will throw this trade in the "Negative-Murray" list next offseason when we're discussing Murray as a GM with 3 offseasons done.
