Just outta curiosity is there any interest in doing a draft Meetup in Vancouver? I've been thinking about it, and I'm not sure but I wanted to gauge interest here. Ill definitely be going if they get one of the top 2 picks.

I already booked my flight. My girlfriend is also flying in because she has never been to Vancouver. We will travel to Victoria that weekend.

But, it would be great if we have some people there to meet up with. @EdJovanovski will probably go since he lives there
What’s the draft like in person? Do they show highlights & stuff like we see on tv on the Jumbotron?

I'd be nice if they did it at the Garden.

I know they swung by this portion of the country not too long ago, but Who wants to go to NJ or Philly?

We should try to do a local draft party somewhere maybe at the flying puck? Anywhere would be cool for us mere local peasants looking to have a good time.

Can’t remember where I heard or read it, but apparently Dolan doesn’t have the best relationship with Bettman and that’s why the draft or All Star game is never at MSG these days

Since they started alternating the location (1987), the following cities have hosted the NHL Draft.

3 times
Montreal (1988, 1992, 2009)
Vancouver (1990, 2006, 2019)
Buffalo (1991, 1998, 2016)
Bloomington/St Paul (1989, 2011)

2 times
Pittsburgh (1997, 2012)
Sunrise (2001, 2015)
Ottawa (2005, 2008)
Quebec (1993)
Hartford (1994)
Edmonton (1995)
Detroit (1987)
St Louis (1996)

1 time
Boston (1999)
Calgary (2000)
Toronto (2002)
Nashville (2003)
Raleigh (2004)
Columbus (2007)
Los Angeles (2010)
Newark (2013)
Philadelphia (2014)
Chicago (2017)
Dallas (2018)

Teams/cities that have not hosted the draft yet:

New York (Rangers, Islanders)
Tampa (Lightning)
Denver (Avalanche)
Phoenix (Coyotes)
Anaheim (Ducks)
San Jose (Sharks)
Washington DC (Capitals)
Winnipeg (Jets)
Vegas (Golden Knights)

Out of those, the following have not hosted an All Star Game and therefore should top the list for next year:

Phoenix
Anaheim
Winnipeg
Vegas

I'm game for this. Maybe the Rangers will do a draft party at MSG or the theater like last year too.

Oooh, I've never thought about going to a draft before. June 21??
You and others should seriously think about it, if it is at all feasible. Very easy to meet many players, players families, GM's, and others associated with the event.

I know this isn't much but this was some of my experience in Sunrise of 2015 draft. Yeah, the McDavid, Eichel one in which I didnt even get a chance to see who we picked. Oh wait, thats right.......we traded it away and didn't have one. What a surprise! But, here.
Met Samsanov, Radka and Werenski's MOM! I remember telling her.... her son will LOVE playing with the Jackets, they are a good organization, and players will welcome him. She seemed genuinely happy, that I made her feel secure about that. Made me feel good.
