Looks like one of Martin or DiPietro could be going into COVID protocol as well. If that happens, expect Silovs - who backed up last night in Abbotsford - to dress as backup.

For St Louis FIVE is a number they are familiar with, 5

Their last 3 games they score FIVE

Canucks appear to be pushing for a delay, another goalie getting COVID? Or not.
Won't happen though.
Many teams have gone through massive goalie situations

Canucks have the easiest schedule in the NHL, okay 3rd easiest. And now they will have the most vs 2nd game in back to back teams, 18 or 19 games now and only another 5 or 6 they are the unlucky team.

St Louis is in a fight for a wild card spot, currently 3rd in their division but 4th has 4 games in hand and 2 pts behind. They are rested and motivated.

Canucks will play another spirited and enthusiastic game but this one will be lopsided IMO.

Canucks are pretty much out of a playoff race now, another 2 or 3 losses are pretty much it and their lack of depth is being exposed. Sure lots of effort but looking good in losing doesn't get the golden ring.

St Louis pots 6

This just keeps reminding me how some “you” thought it would be fine to trade halak and live with what we have as a back up. Think we still live in a Covid world and that’s a huge risk. We are now opening the door to our 5th string or even a Zamboni driver. Fair to say you need some depth at this position.

Yikes, still going through our toughest stretch and covid becomes the toughest battle of all. Now even the call up goalies are getting covid. Seriously this game should just be postponed with such a depleted roster. Hopefully the Canucks can pull off another miracle, but this one will be tough.

OMFG this is ridiculous. Postpone the game?

The NHL has definitively stated there would be no more postponements after January 17th. Their new testing policy reflects this policy (no asymptomatic testing except for cross-border travel).

That being said, they should not have PPD'd the game vs Ottawa when their team was healthy and ready to go.

LOL

I remember when Dipietro was forced to start against San Jose while he was still in junior because of some F’up by Benning

joe Thornton said he felt so bad just lighting the kid up for like 6 goals or something like that.

No, Toth is definitely going to start that game. I'm guessing the UBC backup will start the one after that.

Can you imagine being Sillovs right now? You just missed a golden opportunity. Martin for that matter too, a chance to follow up that wonderful performance. I feel bad for those guys.

Tonight will be the shitshow that we thought last game would be.

Just going to keep the same narrative. Dipietro records a shutout and the Oilers trade for him 10 mins after the game.
