Does anyone realize the sens would need another 4m per player to replace Ryan on top of the Loui contract? So add $8m to the buyouts, retention, whatever then figure out what it costs Vancouver in assets to account for that.

What Is this a new rule?? I thought you could just play Loui there or sign someone for whatever you want to fill that role...

Loui can fill that hole, he is a black hole, he'll fit anywhere and become the hole.

Ottawa says no. They'd be themselves a service to hold onto Ryan. After all he's been through, I'd be curious to see what he can do in a full season again now that he's got a clear mind. Plus Ottawa has nothing to lose. Not like they're contending anytime soon. Might as well keep a guy who is well liked in the locker room over a slow, aging, winger who belongs in the SHL.
