I was expecting the worst so this was a bit of a pleasant surprise. At least the three headed goalie monster is done in Abbotsford.

I figured something was up when they moved Dermott to LTIR. Figured it was to call-up another defencemen but this points to Lazar being out for a while.

At the least it bolsters the farm and center ice depth. At best Studnicka ends up figuring out the NHL game and becomes a bottom 6 center.

Decent move and gets Dipietro somewhere he can maybe resume his career.

Studnicka was a pretty good prospect a couple years ago but hasn’t developed.

I guess they’re going to roll with Miller at W for a bit and needed a more talented option than Lazar or Aman in the C rotation.

At the very worst, Abbottsford just got a big boost to their forward group, at best, Studnicka rebounds in a different environment and becomes an NHLer.

DiPietro had zero future in Vancouver or Abbotsford and Myrenberg might as well not even exist.

On a very irrelevant note, Studnicka always had good potential in NHL22 and I would see him on Boston in the 84-85 overall range as 2C

Gain a guy who can be an NHL regular at the C position and not look horrible defensively making peanuts.

Absolute win, even though it's not a trade we 'needed'. It's a good little upgrade of assets.
