Edler doing the Canucks a solid.

Good deal by Benning.

What is happening here?

In the end benning knew he had the upper hand because there is nowhere he wants to go then to stay in Vancouver. Benning took advantage of that. Edler had all the power he wanted since he’s a ufa and there will be teams offering something more then 2 years.

Personally I’m ok with this. Hughes and juolevi at least have edler and tanev to mentor, and they can ease each other’s ice time.

We are quite lucky actually that he is willing to do this.

Am I the only one who doesn't think Jim Benning is a bad GM?

Good move bringing him back. The team could be in the playoff picture, and Edler is a really good player. Term and dollars are a win for VAN.
Here’s all his work...

There’s a few moves that get all the attention.... but overall, he’s middle of the pack. Gets ravaged more now for what he might do rather than what he does.... take a look:

I'm gonna..
If CDC is a joke then HF Canucks is a clown fiesta.
How so? The mods are much more fair here, and don't target and single out anti or pro management dissenters.

Yes, it is more anti-management and pessimistic, but it is a lot less cult like than CDC/Reddit Canucks, and develops better discussion in my opinion.

For CDC to catch up to Hfboards, it needs to remove its terrible mods like "Deb" who accuses you and gives you an infraction for 'trolling' if you are too critical of Jim Benning.

I am a JB supporter and find there are haters of JB on both sites. The big differences for me is how on HF a lot of people are not actually Canuck fans or are very uneducated about the team basically they act like arty57, if you follow on sportsnet or are a long time CDC member you will know him. CDC has a lot of idiots as well but they can be blocked. As for the mods I hate a few of them, one permanently blocked me and I had to create a knew account with a VPN lol.

Edler is a good player. Happy to see Vancouver hold on to him in a player loyalty way.

Should of went and tried to win a cup. Players that don't care about winning a cup are odd.

Maybe he has a family, and they like living in Vancouver? But you're right, who would put their family ahead of winning the cup

Very nice deal. Edler's a great player and could have made $7-8m on the open market. I was hoping the Flyers would have gone after him but I'm also happy to see him staying in Vancouver.
