I think the best 3+D guy on the market that would fit the Raps is Marvin Williams, but I just can't figure out how to construct a deal for him. Miles is so early in his contract that I feel Masai isn't interested in shipping him out, and you'll need to bring a third team in if the price is JV because of Howard. Otherwise, there's really no ability to match salaries unless you're moving Ibaka, who is too rich for the Hornets and would require more salary coming back to the Raps (or a third team).

I don't get how they plan on doing damage in the playoffs if they still can't hit a 3?

By being 4th in 3PM differential? They have one of the best perimeter defences in the league.

Not to say that they're lacking options, but if Miles gets on a hot streak when the playoffs roll around then they could absolutely do damage.

Wait, aren't they in the bottom of the league in 3P%?

Great 2nd half. Good come back win after a brutal first two quarters.

FVV and Powell (2nd half) were awesome.

Good second half and not so good 1st half - but the bottom line is a "W" - please keep it up

We definitely need to acquire another 3 point threat for this team to be successful in playoffs. Someone that we can add to starting 5 preferably. OG has been a pleasant surprise but I think he is more effective being used as a spot defender and on the 2nd unit. Someone if his ilk with more experience and same D would be preferable to help this team succeed.

I have suggested someone like Wesley Matthews in Dallas, but Marvin Williams would be good as well out of Charlotte. Is there anyone else on a non-playoff team that we should be looking at?

Cabola, were there any picks taken behind him that have had success in the nba, just curious.

Rodney Hood
Bogdanavic

Are 2 players that come to mind that would have been very helpful right now with the 3 ball and overall play

Hood and Bogdonovic are good but don't move the needle imo. The real miss was Capela. He would be a perfect fit on this team.

It is what it is though. Hitting late in the first round is difficult and Masai hit on every pick except this one.

I wonder what Siakam + Ibaka could land us.

We need another 3pt threat, and Siakam & Ibaka definitely don’t cut it.

Game Preview: Raptors at Wizards

Toronto Raptors (34-15) @ Washington Wizards (28-22)
When: Thursday, Feb. 1st, 7 P.M. ET
Where: Capital One Arena
Broadcast info: SN1, TSN1050
LAST MEETING
The Raptors defeated the Wizards 100-91 in their previous meeting, thanks to 33 points from DeMar DeRozan, 12 points from C.J. Miles and 10 points apiece from Fred VanVleet and Kyle Lowry. In a game that was tied after one quarter, and close throughout, the Raptors finally pulled away in the fourth quarter, outscoring Washington 21-15 in the final frame. The Wizards were led by Bradley Beal's 27 points in the loss. John Wall did not play for Washington because of a sore left knee. The Raptors are 13-3 against the Wizards in the last four seasons.
LEADING INTO TONIGHT'S GAME
Injury report:
For Toronto, C.J. Miles is questionable with a sore left knee. For the Wizards, John Wall is out (left knee) and Sheldon Mac is out following left achilles surgery.
Missing Wall: This will be Toronto's third of four meetings with the Wizards this season. The teams have split the first two meetings, with the Wizards getting a victory on the Air Canada Centre floor, before the Raptors defeated them a few weeks later. In each of the first two meetings, Wizards guard John Wall was sidelined (first because of a sore shoulder, then a sore knee).
Big man's game: Jonas Valanciunas had another strong effort in Toronto's victory against the Minnesota Timberwolves on Tuesday. The big man posted his team-leading 16th double-double, scoring 18 points to go with 11 rebounds, while shooting 8-for-12 from the floor. Nine of Valanciunas' double-doubles have come in January where he is averaging 13.1 points and 9.9 rebounds in 22.1 minutes per game.
EXTRA ASSISTS
Powell stepping in:
With C.J. Miles missing Toronto's victory against the Timberwolves with a sore knee, Norman Powell had an opportunity to see more minutes. Coming off the bench earlier than usual, Powell played 20 minutes against Minnesota, scoring eight points to go with three rebounds, a steal and a blocked shot, shooting 3-for-7 from the floor and 2-for-5 from beyond the arc.
Strong assisting: Toronto's Kyle Lowry/DeMar DeRozan All-Star backcourt combined for 17 assists in Tuesday's win. The team as a whole recorded 28 assists, improving to 28-8 when topping 20 assists in a game. Toronto is averaging 23.5 assists per game (12th in the league) after topping 20 assists just 34 times last season.
Injury woes: The Wizards released a statement on Wednesday announcing that John Wall had an arthroscopic debridement procedure on his left knee. As a result, the team said, he is expected to miss six to eight weeks, beginning the rehabilitation process immediately. Hard news for Washington, who lose an All-Star guard averaging 19.4 points, 9.3 assists, 3.6 rebounds and 1.1 blocks per game.

Siakam provides energy on the second unit and great hands on D. What ever offense you get from him is a bonus. But he does his job and does it efficiently. As for Ibaka, he hinder shots in the inside. Is a presence in the middle something we haven't had since Bismac left. His shooting has been inconsistent this is true, but he too is an integral part to the first unit. If he becomes more consistent with his rebounding and shooting he will continue to be part of this team.

Game Preview: Raptors vs. Trail Blazers

Portland Trail Blazers (29-22) @ Toronto Raptors (34-16)
When: Friday, Feb. 2, 7:30 P.M. ET
Where: Air Canada Centre
Broadcast info: SN1, SN590
LAST MEETING
Toronto last saw Portland on the road at the end of October, in a game with plenty to remember. The Raptors held the Blazers to just six points — and one field goal — in the second quarter to build a 54-35 lead at the halftime break. Though Damian Lillard scored 36 to lead Portland, the Blazers wouldn't get closer than 13 in the second half and entered the fourth trailing by 20 points. The Raptors were without Jonas Valanciunas who had an ankle injury, and Serge Ibaka who had swelling in his knee. DeMar DeRozan scored 25 points and Kyle Lowry added 19 points and 10 rebounds.
LEADING INTO TONIGHT'S GAME
Injury report:
For Toronto, C.J. Miles is questionable with a sore left knee. For the Blazers, the injury report is still to be decided.
Player of the Month: The NBA announced on Monday that DeMar DeRozan was the Eastern Conference Player of the Month for games played in January. This was the third time DeRozan has received the honour in his career and came in a month where he averaged 25.3 points and 5.9 assists per game.
Home team: Friday's game against the Trail Blazers will kick off a four-game homestand, Toronto's longest of the season. After Portland, the Raptors will host the Memphis Grizzlies, the Boston Celtics and the New York Knicks before heading out on the road on Feb. 11 to take on the Charlotte Hornets.
EXTRA ASSISTS
Welcome Toronto:
The game will also be Toronto's third Welcome Toronto night of the season, with six nights scheduled. Look for the Raptors to wear their black-and-gold uniforms and play on the black-and-gold court once again.
Letting it fly: The NBA announced on Friday that Kyle Lowry will participate in the three-point contest on All-Star Saturday night in Los Angeles later this month. This will be the third consecutive year Lowry has participated in the event, and he will compete against Bradley Beal, Paul George, Klay Thompson, defending champion Eric Gordon, Devin Booker, Wayne Ellington and Tobias Harris.
Familiar faces: Head coaches Dwane Casey and Terry Stotts have history dating back to when both were assistant coaches under George Karl for the Seattle Supersonics. The duo were also both assistants under Rick Carlisle for the 2011 NBA Champion Dallas Mavericks. Raptors guard Delon Wright is the younger brother of former Blazers Dorell Wright, who played for Portland from 2013-2015.
