As long as Lawrie is out they might as well swap Bonifacio and Izturis. Bonifacio can't be any worse at 3rd than he is at 2nd, and at least Izturis is a decent middle infielder instead of a terrible 3rd baseman.

Can't be any worse. Sure lawrie wasn't very good when started out on the field. But he made up for it with his offense

EDIT: it's also the position he's most familiar with, relatively speaking. He's played 128 career games at 3B, compared to 81 at 2B, 96 at SS, and 46/96/23 at LF/CF/RF respectively.
