Storen sucked, Benoit sucks...someone turn down the suck knob
Benoit adds experience to our bullpen at least. Also had a good season last season but was in the nl.
What good is experience if you aren't even good enough to pitch in the majors anymore? Storen has plenty of experience.
Thing about Benoit is that he hasn't really lost any velo this season (aside from a 2mph dip in his slider). His change up was always seen as one of the most dominant pitches in the game.
Has anyone else noticed how unbalanced the Red Sox schedule has been so far? 58 home games, only 40 on the road.

They have an 11 game west coast trip coming up after this Tigers series. They'll come home for a couple of series, then be gone for 11 games again.
I'd bet the cash considerations in there is probably us paying them the difference in salary(380k), so basically each team getting different relievers for the same cost.
But the Nats already paid us some money for Storen in that deal
So that's 3 teams paying Storen now
Who do they move off of the 25 man roster for Benoit?
Grilli wasn't good enough to pitch in the majors anymore before he was acquired, either.
Benoit has been a fine reliever over his career, he's another Grilli , just because he had a rough 24 innings this year doesn't mean he's done.
Relief pitchers tend to change from year-to-year, not within the season. For every Grilli, there's a dozen who don't bounce back in-season. I don't think anyone should bank on/believe Benoit suddenly figures it out in-season at his age. He's a 38 year old who's trending down.People said the same about Grilli when we acquired him.
This is a guy who has proven year after year that he is a dependable pen arm. Most of his issues stem from walks well outside his career rate. Stuff is still pretty good he just needs to make a few adjustments to bump that walk rate back to normal. K rate is good, H/9 is still good.
Tepera, Schultz, Morales, pick your poison.
Might see Chavez moved as part of a deal for another pitcher.
