Next offseason Dave Nonis will be a busy man. We have a lot of key guys on expiring contracts, either UFAs or RFAs.

Based on the first quarter of the season, predict how much you believe some of these key UFAs and RFAs will get.

If you feel we shouldn't resign them, put that beside their names. If you feel the player will be traded either before or during the offseason also put that beside.

Dion Phaneuf:
Dave Bolland:
Jay McClement:
James Reimer:
Cody Franson:
Jake Gardiner:
Mason Raymond:
Nikolai Kulemin:
Paul Ranger:
Mark Fraser:
Peter Holland:
Carter Ashton:

As you can see that's a lot of key guys, luckily our top 6 (Kessel, JVR, Lupul, Kadri, Clarkson, Bozak) are locked in.

At the end with the players already in the system, try and compose a roster. (If i'm forgetting anyone else that you feel will make the team please add)

Dion Phaneuf- Pivotal we resign this guy! He's gonna command between $7-7.5M/7 years and you know what even if its an overpayment its better then letting him walk

Dave Bolland:Key guy to resign, I'd sign him to a 3 year/10M deal

Jay McClement: Needs to be resigned, he wants to be here too so this shouldn't be a problem. 2 years/5M

James Reimer: Tough one because really he wants to be a #1, I think this hinges on how both goalies play this season. I always said the person who gets the #1 job stays and the one who loses will want out, Riemer's a classy guy no doubt but make no mistake he wants to be top dog and if he loses to Bernier makes sense to trade him

Cody Franson:
Jake Gardiner:
Mason Raymond: No to resigning him, while hes having a good comeback season he's not the right fit for Randy's system

Nikolai Kulemin:I want to resign him BUT due to that Clarkson contract you'd have to think he'd want the same type of contract and if that's the case its hard to justify paying him that kind of dough. I'd sign him to a 4 year/12M deal tops, good bottom 6'er key PK guy but he's an offensive blackhole.

Paul Ranger: He's a joke, no buisness being on this team... buh bye!
Mark Fraser: Lock him up, h's a gritty tough bottomg pairing guy and if he plays 10-12 mins a night he's effective. 2 year deal/3M deal\

Peter Holland: Not sure yet on him
Carter Ashton: Sure as long he accepts the league minimum

What does one player have to do with the other? Both of them play different positons, Dion is a top pairing guy and Bolland is a 3rd liner. Above average to elite top pairing defencmen make $7-8M a season, 3rd liners simply do not and I gurantee you if Bolland gets paid north of $5M a lot of Leaf fans would be up in arms, for what he brings to the table $3-4M/season is a fair deal for him.

Answers in bold, not sure hot it works capwise, but those are my predictions on what will happen.

Do you think Bolland is worth more because he played on a team that won the cup?

Don't think you gonna get Reims at anything under 3.5 mil. I think he will say "trade me or sign me to #1 money". Next year we gonna have one guy in net and a clear backup.
