Also..

Paris St-Germain defender Serge Aurier has been stopped from entering the United Kingdom by authorities before Wednesday's Champions League match at Arsenal.

The 23-year-old was given a two-month suspended prison sentence in September for assaulting a police officer.

PSG say UK authorities granted Aurier a visa in October but revoked it on 16 November, citing his conviction.

The French champions said the decision showed "a lack of respect".

Absolutely laughable decision. Aurier has appealed and thus is considered innocent per french law until proven otherwise.

British officials feeling desparate here. :shakehead

I don't think French law is the law that would apply, however.

I don't know the law but I would imagine most people wouldn't be allowed to leave the country when they are being investigated for assault on a police officer? Again, I don't know the details of what is going on and have been too lazy to look it up. Isn't he on a suspended sentence already as well for another incident?

And?
Has Aurier done anything wrong in England? So what exactly would apply here? :shakehead

For the record, UEFA has backed up PSG on this issue.

And so placing your reliance in it is slightly backwards. I'm not commenting on right or wrong.
Innocent until proven guilty is in most non-third world countries...

Understood, but he's been convicted, he's just up on appeal. For example, in America, that would mean he's guilty even though America holds an innocent until proven guilty standard.

It's also extremely common for countries to disallow people from visiting if they have a conviction elsewhere, even if it's on appeal. Granted there's usually exceptions made for high profile cases (performers, athletes, etc.) but it's not like denying entry to someone who has an outstanding conviction is a crazy thing for a country to do.

Yes, this is also the case.

Well, 1-1 final. Spurs have to win or it's over for them. So I say go for it, throw out your best 11 and go for it. If you fall short, you can rest your stars against CKSA in the last meaningless game in a few weeks.

Leverkusen unbeaten in 5 matches but with only 7 points to show for it.

Well they really don't take Legia that seriously I guess. Hopefully Rode is playing as a full back.
