Mascherano seemed lost on every defensive situation.

He was fine up until Barca pushed up leaving 2 defenders for City to feast on.

BTW that was clearly a hand on Kun, it was stuck to his body but he turned his hand and intentionally balled the ball off of it. As LH said though it didn't change too much.

Erh, look at City's goals. Mascherano is a ghost on every goal except the free kick.
On the third goal, Barca's D is completely running backwards and letting the forwards advance (the City players being much less than the Barca players) and suddenly, Umtiti gets it and tries to pressure KDB, who passes it on the right and Digne is actually fighting for the ball, but once again beaten.
ALL the other defensemen were left standing.

Barca were due for a good loss in UCL, I'm just glad it was Pep's team that did it. De Bruyne is the ****, further proving that Mourinho is a jackass for letting him go.

Masch is done. Digne couldn't start at PSG or Roma so if Jordi Alba was healthy there is no way he starts this game. Sergi Roberto finally had a **** game and Aleix Vidal is a complete waste of money... sigh, the entire RB situation is a **** show. Busquets has been TERRIBLE all season. Andres Gomes, Denis Suarez, Rafinha and even Sergi Roberto are not Iniesta or Xavi. They need to find a way to succeed, and it's arguable that Rafinha should be starting.

Anyhow, moving on...

It was on a counter and Masch was tracking back. From the start you see Umtiti pressuring KDB. The goal was a result Roberto losing his man Gomes on a walkabout and mix that with a blind linesman.

1st goal was all on Roberto and maybe Biscuits.

Like I said he was fine until barca went all out on the attack looking for goals.

Gomes is a waste of money too.

The midfield has been weak for sometime now. Barca in general rely too heavily on MSN and natural talent to win out games. Wish Lucho would be replaced by Poch soon.

It was bound to happen, and Iniesta being hurt doesn't help.

If Denis Suarez is supposed to eventually replace Iniesta great, if Gomes needs to eventually replace Rakitic fine, but who the hell is going to replace Busquets? Also, Rafinha and Sergi Roberto should be able to push these others for starting spots.

Unfortunately Suarez and Gomes haven't done a great job yet. They'll need time.

This is a new philosophy for Barça, buying youth.

Ramos will be playing instead of Auba. He got scratched for "internal reasons".

Lyon once again not scoring on their chances, while Juve do on theirs. Story of the two legs so far.

I thought Gomes played well yesterday, the first 35-40 minutes of the game was the best he's played as a Barca player. Rakitic and Busquets were quite poor. Busquets got overloaded, especially in the 2nd half, Luis Enrique didn't adjust his tactics, and MSN were completely cut off in that half because of the disjointed midfield (especially when Turan was subbed in).
Lucho hasn't really shown to be a manager who can adjust on the fly. Yesterday was a learning lesson for him

I like Gomes though, I'd like to see him besides Iniesta-Busquets when the former comes back from his injury.
