I'm sorry but eyes were blurred by HIS gold medals and Cup ring.

Cup ring from ten years ago. And I'm pretty sure a monkey on the bench would've won medals with Canada. He's a good coach. No doubt. But the facts are the facts: He hasn't won a round in five years.

This is really too close to call at the moment, but I am going to go with Babcock.
He turned a possession-caving Leafs team with few tools into a rising Eastern powerhouse.
The PK and PP went from godawful to near-tops in the league (PP) and above average (PK).
He's managed the young talent efficiently, even though some of his love for marginal players (Matt Martin, Roman Polak) must be irritating for Maple Leafs fans.
He's a little slow on the adjustment side of things though, and that's a detriment. The best part is that he's going to instill a real sense of accountability and defensive awareness in the entire lineup. Those that can't or won't fit with the program will go away, and there might be some fan favourites there as well, sadly for Buds' fans.
Oh, he's also top cheddar at media manipulation; there will not be any Phil Kessel debacles with the media under his watch. Media just eat out of his hands.

The Leafs should be in the mix for a conference finals at some point soon. I wanted him for the Sens but apparently we could not shell out that much for personnel that does not count against the cap.
