You then KNOW that the Habs will then offer him a contract....

I've been saying this since we've signed him.. but I have no problem with Bouillon.. as long as he's the 7th dmen. He's finally the 7th dmen but it took so long that I just feel he has overstated his welcome now.

I'd rather go with Drewiski as the 7th guy.

And we gotta make room for Tinordi and Beaulieu who are both doing very very well.

Nightmare, this has got to be a nightmare right? I really hope if he does play in the NHL next season it will not be in Montreal.

I hate that we have this thread, that we have reached this point because Bouillon is a good guy that has always given his best for the Habs. I'll always respect what he's achieved and I'll always remember how happy I was when he punched Tucker in the face. But man, Bouillon is done at the NHL level.

If he's ready to ride the bus, I'd give him an AHL contract. I think he would be a good veteran influence. This guy has always been in good shape. He certainly could show the kids how to be physically prepared game in game out.

But man, get this guy away from the Habs.

If Bouillon thinks he can play another year or two in the NHL and a GM from another team also thinks he can, then I am all for engineering a trade... for almost anything, including a late round pick

Cube can sign his next contract in Montreal as Player/Coach/Mascot, a first in the NHL ;)

Wow so much hate for a guy that just a depth guy. Ppl complain and used the excuse that Therrien used Emelin on his offside on RD even tho Emelin has played their his whole career, NHL, and KHL, and has said that he rather plays RD. Yet don't bring it up than Bouillon was forced to play RD even tho he has never done it in his Career until last year and this year.

I have no issue with Bouillon in the role he is now, a 7th, 8th dmen, the guy seems like a great lockerroom guy, might be small but the dude plays a gritty tough game.

He got too much playing time last year and this year but that was due to injuries, now he barely plays now, Therrien plays the young guys ahead of him.

With that said, DD44 has the 7th dmen role locked up next year, low cap hit, the dude knows his role is a 7th dmen, but if Mtl wants to keep 8 dmen 13 F next year, instead of maybe going with 7 dmen 14 F, I rather have Bouillon as that 8dmen than a guy like Greg Pateryn sitting on the bench not playing.

...why not just keep Murray for the same (approx.) cap hit??...Cube's done, let him walk, Bergevin...

That would be perfect, Murray as the 7th, and DD44 the 8th..

But I don't think Murray will re-sign here unless he is a 5-6th dmen. Some fans might not like his stlye of play, but he has done what he needs to do, specially on the pk unit. If Mtl doesn't offer him what he wants, I think he'll get it elsewhere.

But if Bouillon is brought back somehow, it will be at a salary like DD44, maybe a bit more, but like I said, I think his spot is taken by DD44, unless Bergevin likes the 13F 8D format.

Yeah, really not fair. Lets face it, while some guys hang them up willingly, lots of others want to keep playing the game they love and get paid handsomely to do it, and you cant blame them.

Now Cubes really has played too much and shouldn't have, but that is not his fault, its MT and/or MBs fault. But because he has, because hes gotten PP time, and because he isn't good enough to be doing so he incurs our wrath. Hey, this guy is a warrior who gives it everything he has every shift and stands up for his teammates, always has. MB wanted character and Cubes has it.

One of the most embarrassing things Habs fans ever did was that treatment of Brisbois, who was cast as a top pairing d-man because we had nobody else, even though he wasn't remotely close to being a top pairing player. Again, not the mans fault, it was the organizations.

So don't blame Cubes if MB offers him a contract and he accepts it. I thank Cubes for his work and dedication but we have 3 guys anyway in Beaulieu, Tinordi and Pateryn that should all be getting ice time at the NHL level this year and certainly a lot more next year. Great that Beulieu is up but a guy like Pateryn needs to be rewarded here and we need to see how he looks.

If we re-sign him then we should expect to remain in mediocrity under this administration.

Oh please

the LA Kings won the cup with DD44 as their 7th dmen, and when healthy him and Bouillon will be our 7th and 8th dmen..

If we are stuck in mediocrity its because our top 6 Dmen are not good enough.

Well he didn't play one game in the POs and got dressed for 9 during the year. He was their 8th D for most of that year.

I fully agree, if we're in mediocrity it'll be because of our crap regulars, not a 7th.

However, I don't see the point in having Bouillon around. Might as well get a specialist.
