No offensive rocket but who in their right mind would come out and say to their fan base they're moving?

The Hamilton Bulldogs sell their seats at $36. each compared to $10. in Shawinigan.

Who in their right mind would set up an AHL franchise in TR when the Bull Dogs are moving to Laval already?

A threat but not a very powerful one when someone knows and checks the economic reality of that area.

The only way I see an AHL team working in TR is 1) if QC gets and NHL team or 2) After Ottawa's affiliation in Binghamton end, TR would work location-wise.

Both are long shots

If the Habs affiliate ends up in Laval (wheater it's the Bulldogs or another franchise) I don't see any other team putting their farm team there.

http://www.cataractes.qc.ca/article/le-point-sur-des-rumeurs-manant-de-trois-rivi-res

In summary, les Cataractes have a 40 km radius veto right & they don't believe a 2nd team in the region is economical at this time.

36$?

And they ask why the Copps Coliseum is empty?

When Quebec has the Citadelles of the AHL, the price was 15$.

Exactly, If they are moving they could care less about long term bad feelings of denying the rumours.

Turcotte is very credible and likely has his finger on the pulse of this story.

Time will tell.

The new owners have deep pockets and will compensate the Cataractes very well. Cataractes management are obviously going to play hard ball to get the best deal possible - It's called " Business"

I think that you are overdoing that situation quite a bit:
1- There is NO financing arrangement in place as of now to build a 5000 seats rink in TR.
2- There is NO agreement in place to move ANY Maritimes team to Quebec, nor is there any agreement with the Q brass about a potential relocation.
3- There is NO agreement in place with the Cataractes as to waive their veto towards the new TR "possible" TR junior team.

In fact, the Cataractes have been very vocal about the NON-VIABILITY of having a 2nd team in the Mauricie region; they do not believe they could survive and TR survive if that team was setlled there.

So, in fact, even with all the big pocket "potential" investors in that venture, there is NO ground to believe it will ever happen for the next 5 years or so....maybe will it in the medium term, but not in the foreseeable future.
