I guess Olle Alsing is in Sweden for sure this season
Missed that completely.

Seems that way.

So this year Ebert will get into a minimum of 8 games for sure, Lajoie will get called up, Wolanin and Branstrom will get games, Jaros will get games. I have a hard time seeing England ever getting another chance with the Sens, not that it’s very surprising.

We should probably just have a training camp thread. This one will do but should maybe adjust the title to be more all tc encompassing

I'm well aware the new coaching staff probably wants a good look at everything we've got in the cupboards, but this is stupid and excessive, imo. The Habs did it a few years ago and nothing came out of it except for a slow start to the season because guys didn't get enough reps in TC. There's always the possibility Dorion doesn't care about a slow start because we're "tanking" but that would fly in the face of everything he's said publicly.

There's 10-12 guys (minimum) who will never sniff NHL time. These guys don't need to be here and should simply report to Belleville once their TC starts.

I agree . Not sure when they expect to trim but they could do it quick. Too many what's the point candidates. It would be a thrill for those guys individually though.

Could be a quick 4 team mini tournament to start the training camp?

Basically 2 goalies, 5 d, 9 f per team with what we're starting at.

You'd expect to drop it down by almost half the camp size after the first week though.

He has an AHL salary of 300k and a minimum year salary of 350k. His contract has NHL time worked into it.

He's not "guaranteed" games, but is guaranteed at least 2 weeks or so on the active roster.

I thought deals like that just meant that he gets 350k or the combination of AHL + NHL salary, whichever is larger. Like if he plays enough time in the NHL where he meets or exceeds 350k he gets that, but if he doesn't get on the NHL roster at all, he still gets 350k\. I have no reason for thinking that really but I always believed it worked that way.

TC will be split into three groups right off the bat, so I doubt that's the direction they are going in.

It gets split into NHL and AHL groups after that, so we'll obviously see the ECHL/invite types gone by then. Would be nice if it was before the week was out though, since camp is only ~2 weeks long.

Logan Brown is getting my NyQuil's Annual Magnifying Glass Target 2019-2020™ award.

Last year I'd meant it for J-G Pageau, so if anything happens to Logan Brown, you'll know it's my fault. Pageau was finally supposed to get his opportunity to show his stuff in the top six as a veteran centre. Now I wonder if that opportunity may be gone for good.

I am definitely a Logan Brown skeptic, but all of the talk lately about him has been positive, so I'm going to try to be objective and pay some special attention.

He's an exciting talent - it was always about whether he'd reach his ceiling. Having a centre of his frame develop into a top six forward at the NHL level would be a real shot in the arm for this organization.

Nope, I skated with a guy this summer who has his contract done the exact same way with Carolina this year

When our team gets bullied who steps up? Literally only Boro. (yeah Tkachuk too, but we don't want that too often)

Just for fun a quick breakdown:
Black has the best goalies.

White has the best defense corps.

Red has the best forwards.

Overall I think Red is the strongest lineup.

Hey, no one is more willing to lose a fight than Boro.

Yeah it's true, but fighting isn't out of hockey yet. We're already lacking skill, and are probably the softest team in the league. Having Boro shotgun the left side will still keep opposing forwards on their toes, whether he misses them clean or not. I'm sure even the Boro haters still get out of their seat when he lays someone out or drops the gloves with someone.
