This is a good idea but our right side is set for next year: Zub, Zaitsev and Hamonic.

We'd have to make more moves to make such a move this offseason. Doable but seems unlikely.

Theodore is literally the last player off that roster they would trade.
Top pairing, 23 min per night RS defenceman, making 5.3 million/yr.
It’s an absolute non starter.
It would be like us trading Batherson, except even dumber given their contending and cap status.

Theodore is too perfect a contract for Vegas to move. If there's anyone else Vegas wants to move to us, we better be fleecing them given their cap situation.

For example if they realize they can't afford Whitecloud or McNabb's extension and we can get them for cheap (like a 3rd or 4th), do it. Not that it'll ever happen but just goes to show how unlikely vegas is to move good value contracts

Zub is one of my favourite players on the roster, but I think that deal would be must for Dorion if Theodore was offered.

26, playing top pairing minutes for $5.2 million aav for 3 more seasons, that is an amazing deal. Theodore will cost some cash on his next deal, but by then we ought to have some depth with our prospects being ready for 1 and 2rd positions.

Exactly. The GM should be fired immediately if he trades Theodore due to cap issues.

I think Vegas might need to move Martinez. They have some guys on LD that can replace him for cheaper and he's a bit of a luxury. They might also need to move on from Wild Bill. For $5.9 million, he has to be producing more than friggin Chandler Stephenson.

Smith is a UFA. They are at about 83M going into next year with 19 contacts. If they want to sign Roy and Hague they will need to shed about 4M and run at 20 or 21 man roster. Most players making more than 2M have some form of trade protection. They will probably buyout Daddy

That Dadonov deal fckd them. No way they make a deal with us. Only way it happens is if another team pulls a fast one on them and makes a trade with us right after they trade with Vegas. Kinda like SJ and Florida did or Van and Tor.

I think there might be someone that Dadanov is willing to go to. He's playing some decent hockey and isn't exactly overpaid at $5 million. Might be several teams that can afford him for a cheap draft pick (which Vegas might have to accept). A team like Carolina might acquire him for a very cheap draft pick, especially with Neidereitter ($5.25aav) and Trochek ($4.75aav) coming off the books. Heck, I wouldn't mind going after Niedereitter in ufa if he can take a cheap deal.
