Gonna be an interesting summer. New coaching staff has to be hired, Darcy has a bunch of picks he can play with at the draft, one or more main roster player (Miller, Stafford, Vanek) will probably be traded, etc.

In order to make it in the NHL, Hackett is going to need to work on his timing more. Oftentimes he goes into the butterfly too quickly, which can sometimes hang him out to dry with the more creative offensive talents (of which there are many in the NHL).

His size and movement, though, are tremendous assets and all things considered, there are worse flaws that you could have than getting into the butterfly too easily.

I wonder if Washington was considering trading Forsberg to Buffalo for Stafford plus a prospect. It still was a great end to the trade deadline with the anticipation that Washington was making a blockbuster trade and that Buffalo might be involved.
