why did i think Bunting was a physical agitating type?
Totally. I don't blame them for it either.
I think if Pettersson signs a month earlier we have Guentzel here now instead of Lindholm ... and that would have been significantly better. But spilled milk, I guess.
He’s not though. Kuzmenko is a 5.5 million dollar soft winger that wasn’t producing and was being health scratched. And his new team, I understand, also healthy scratched him so obviously they don’t think much of him either. Bunting is at least producing at a reasonable rate and makes one million less.Bunting is basically Kuzmenko in different clothing and he was apparently a desirable centerpiece for Pittsburgh.
My bad.@Hodgy Turns out the Flames didn’t healthy scratch Kuzmenko. Apparently got really sick and that’s why he missed two games.

My bad.
Bunting was scoring at a .60 ppg for 4.5 million which isn’t totally out of whack.
Kuzmenko was scoring at .48ppg for 5.5 million and was being health scratched by his team.
So I think Kuzmenko was the bigger dump, but it was closer than I thought.
I disagree, it just has never been JR's MO. He finds his player early and makes his move and by all accounts Guentzel wasn't available then.
Well he's signed another year, and Washington will probably want to take another shot next season. Main thing I wanted to point out though is this is how Paul Gaustad once got traded for a 1st round pick at the deadline. Anything less isn't really going to move the needle much so you can't blame them for trying. The fact that Nic Dowd was not traded after all the posturing about how he was worth a first. Is hilarious to me would not have been a bad target if the price was like a third.
Mantha and Hertl don't exactly worry me. Vegas should worry about MAKING the playoffs first here.Vegas absolutely loaded up.
Kinda hope we don’t meet them in the playoffs
It would have been nice to at least make a waiver claim on someone so there was something to talk about.
I keep looping back hoping there would be something I missed.
They coulda claimed Bjornfot for depth - there are plenty of ways a waiver claim can make sense. It's better to make a deal that makes actual sense, instead of making a deal just to make a deal.
I usually don't watch interviews and just read vectors summaries instead, but I watched Allvins presser twice and I thought it was apparent that cap space was a big factor.A few thoughts:
- It's interesting that while Allvin was trying to get rid of Poolman's contract, McCrimmon in Vegas is leaning hard into the LTIR space created there. Very different managerial styles.
- The lack of a push for a top6 addition speaks to management's opinion of Suter. They value this player highly.
- The swing forward in the top6 is Mikheyev. Whatever value he has around the league, it seems like this management team values him more. CGY didn't share that opinion though re: Tanev trade.
- The Computer Boys (CAR) get Kuznetsov. I like it for them because it's just primarily money. They have the base for him to succeed. Let's see.
I knew he liked to stir the pot, i just, mistakenly thought he dished it out as well. He’s a bit of a diving rat which is a dimension Kuzmenko doesn’t have but he’s a crappy defensive player who had his numbers inflated by linemates in Toronto and isn’t as skilled as Kuzmenko.
Unless he start sharing his cocaine with everyone.A few thoughts:

- BOS is playing some dirty pool here. They floated Lindholm's name, imo. This way, even if things go better for the remainder of the season, he knows a team is waiting for him in FA.
- I thought Zadarov would move to make a lateral RHD trade (Tanev/Walker), My guess is that they weren't getting enough from DAL (who were rumoured to be interested in Zadarov), pre Tanev trade, in order to execute it. Then DAL grabs Tanev instead.

Besides, there is no way to determine if a move made sense unless we parse it for hours after it happens.
I will get down on my knees every night and pray to any god that listens, that they miss the playoffs. And yes, I know where you're going to take this.Mantha and Hertl don't exactly worry me. Vegas should worry about MAKING the playoffs first here.
It's funny how Allvin mentions not wanting to part with Willander and Lekkerimaki but none of the trades today included prospects of this calibre. It sounds like he didn't like the available players aside from maybe Guentzel. but again, Carolina didn't give up any top prospects for him.
That's how I read the Zucker deal.Lots of players also went without retention meaning we couldn't afford them without some other moves if I understood that correctly.
yeah I looked at carolina's 5v5 stats yesterday and bunting and lemieux managed to be sub-50% xGF% despite playing on carolina where everybody over the past ~3 years has been over 50%Bunting was awful at ES for Carolina and propped up by a bunch of PP points. Takes a lot of penalties but doesn't throw any hits. He's not the same player as Kuzmenko but he's a very flawed player who is bad defensively and didn't generate anywhere near his cap hit in terms of value. And he wasn't a season removed from scoring 39 goals.
I don't think we would have had Lindholm in our sights as the 'early target' if there wasn't so much concern about where we sat at C for 24-25.
you never count vegas out bro.Mantha and Hertl don't exactly worry me. Vegas should worry about MAKING the playoffs first here.
