Don't we have about $3.5M in cap space? And Sheppard had $100k retained in yesterday's deal? Why retain space at all if you're not going to use it?

Coburn isn't that much worse at ES.

My only issue is that it's a "win now" kind of move, even though Yandle isn't old. I really think Duc is going to develop into a monster, and I'm sad to see him gone. I'm also curious as to what that says to some of our defensive prospects. Not as strong as we'd hoped, and certainly showing the new direction this team is taking. I'm shocked Macilrath hasn't been included in a trade yet.

Yandle is a great player and the type of player we've needed for a long time, but giving up Duke definitely hurts.

Makes me wonder though about Staal. McDonagh isn't going anywhere and Yandle will get a big payday in 2017. I can't see us spending 18 mil on the left side of our defense.
