Just looking at available UFA and sort of compiling a list of maybes. I'm mainly using guestimates as to how I think we could afford, how productive I think they might be, and they're age.

First Depth Chart (order listed doesn't reflect anything):

Center
Eriksson Ek
Rask
Sturm
Dewar
Rossi(?)

Right Wing
Zuccarello
Fiala
Foligno
Bjugstad

Left Wing
Kaprisov
Greenway
Boldy(?)

Left Defense
Brodin
Soucy(?)

Right Defense
Spurgeon
Dumba
Addison (?)

Goalie
Talbot
Kahkonen

Given the depth chart listed above. We have a few positions that could use bolstering or filling; center, left wing, and defense.

Centers
Krejci
Stastny
Wennberg
Bonino
Haula
Zajac
Bozak

Right Wing
Hudson Fasching - What happened to him? Might be a decent player to take a chance on. Probably high risk/medium reward. Should come fairly cheap though. Might be a decent 13th forward?

Left Wing
Tyrell Goulbourne - Mostly a depth/4th line signing
Nitika Gusev - Maybe as a 3rd liner?

Left Defense
Ian Cole - Assuming he takes a paycut
Jamie Oleksiak - Decent defender which would give us more size
Jake McCabe - Coming off an injury but was a pretty decent defender
Cody Ceci - Eh lol
Jack Johnson - :naughty:

Right Defense
Zach Bogosian - Not sure how I feel about this. Really just a depth signing
Luke Schenn - Depth signing

Edit: Realized I didn't do Goalies

Goalies
Jaroslav Halak - Could be a decent #1 if Talbot is taken and a good tandem if Kahk is taken.
Petr Mrazek - Similar to Halak, but more towards a backup
Linus Ullmark - Similar to two above

Feel free to submit your own ideas and thoughts, and to rip this to shreds.

Yeah I’m not too fond of that offer if it’s true but at least we aren’t offering Rossi. Wild insider says Fiala wants 9-10million so that is a No

Can you link these sources?

I'm confused, you keep discussing a trade for Eichel, but Russo basically says it won't happen for two reasons. First the cap problems, second is Guerin wants to play the kids, and not sell them.

You need to stop treating everything Russo says as gospel.

We are linked to eichel. By trading Fiala we have more cap room, by getting rid of your buddy we get more room to afford him

Then why bother with contract negotiations if they plan to trade Fiala?
Why did Guerin say he hopes Rossi will be the center they need?

And the Eichel cap hit would actually be a bigger problem the first couple of years after Zucc's contract expires.

Because he's not going to come out and say "who cares about those two, we're getting rid of them for Eichel" before a deal is even close? Even you can't be that naive.

Since contract talks are going south we see what his market is, Rossi is unproven and even with full faith in him a top line center isn’t bad to have let alone two of them. Eichels cap hit won’t be as big of an issue with your boy off the books

Well I'm gonna have to trust Russo on this...no Eichel.

But Guerin is obviously a guy who shoots from the hip, who knows what happens next.

Guerin has HIS plan and is executing said plan. You may not agree with that plan but that doesn't mean he's shooting from the hip.
