Carl Gunnarsson

Not a fan of either team but I’ve been following both teams needs from other threads.

Blues are looking for RW or C help which Brown can play a bit of center and is a RW. He is young which most Blues fans are looking for under 30.

Leafs are looking for a veteran but not too old defensive dman. I think Gunnarsson would be a great guy for their defense and shore up their defensive woes. Cap hits the Leafs take on about 800k in extra cap but 1yr finished earlier.

Could be minor picks add but I think the value is there.

Seems like it fills a need for both sides.

no from toronto. gunnarsson won't help our defensive issues by himself and our rw depth will suck without brown and nylander possibly moved to C

we have enough third line players on the team. The positions will be filled by thomas, kyrou thompson. We will take a 2nd though

Don't think Toronto would do this. 82 games played for two consecutive years averaging 15-16 mins per night. I am interested though in Brown. RH, RW with some scoring ability on an appropriately sized contract (compared with who and what Blues have been paying third liners).

Don't watch much hockey outside of Blues and Western Conference but I'm guessing Brown slotted in on the Leafs 3rd line?

3rd or 4th this past season depending on which line combos Babcock decided to go with

Brown and Hyman are in that Draper/Maltby vein in which you need quality role players that are key PKers and do the little things your stars don't do. Brown comes from a diehard Leafs family and he loves being a member of the team. Hope hes here for quite a while!

No need. A good defender will fall into our laps for virtually nothing as it has in the past.

If Gunnar is an actual target for TOR I wouldn't mind shipping him off for a late 2nd or a 3rd during the offseason. Would be nice to clear a little bit of cap if we realistically have any opportunity to pursue Tavares although it is more than likely not needed.
