For what it's worth and know i can't remember where i just read it but it said that Simmonds was on the Flyers radar during this waver period. How long before he clears?

Wayne Simmonds cleared waivers today so he's officially a non-roster player in the minors.

I doubt Simmonds goes to the minors. He would retire before that imo.

He might. If so he could be a guy that moves into a front office job. Possibly in a community facing position.

But if he does want to continue playing and there isn’t an NHL job for him there really isn’t a better place for him than the Marlies. He gets to keep training in NHL facilities and playing in his home town.

Realistically, he could go to a bottom feeder for future considerations. The tanking team gets a player to help the race to the bottom while also obtaining a guy who is known to be great for the locker room. The Leafs loved Simmer, he's someone you want around your young guys imo

Leafs aren't looking to get value here, just want to send him somewhere he'd like and can play

Lots of hard miles on him....Great player in his time ,but he has be done now...
