Exactly. Gardiner and Kadri on the point on the pp sounds like all kinds of trouble holding the puck in.

No worries. Should be a piece of cake for Kadri, he's one of the best possession players in the entire league. It'll be his time to shine finally!

Leafs schedule actually looks like its possible Leafs could win 5 of their next 6 games and get back in the playoff race.

NJ, Arizona, Philly, NJ and Edmonton along with Nashville gives the Leafs a chance to save the season.

Unfortunately the Edmonton Oilers defense looks better than ours as long as Holzer is playing with Franson on the top pairing.

Still, the quality of the opponents mentioned do give the Leafs at least serviceable odds to win 5/6. But should this happen it very well could give management the idea they really should "save the season" with short term thinking that has run the Leafs into the sewer. (Nonis: we need Franson to have a chance at the playoffs this year, I don't care about the strong possibility he walks for nothing). There are similar issues even if somehow the Leafs MAKE the playoffs.

I don't think we're better than any of those teams, to be honest.

Holzer who wasn't good enough to even make the team the last couple of years, but now he's on the first pairing :)
I guess Kostka wasn't available

5-2 NJ, we give up an early goal, allow another one late in the first, and then play catch up for the rest of the game. We get it to 4-2 late, pull Bernier, and allow an ENG.

Prove me wrong boys.

I honestly can't take it anymore. The Leafs are my favorite sports team and seeing them lose is messing with me. Please win this for us Leafs. A 15-2-3 win streak puts us right back in the hunt and quite frankly, I just want the playoffs again :(

Isn't it sad that for changes to happen the Leafs have to literally hit rock bottom multiple times? And even then nothing is guaranteed.

If he gets taken off #1PP, will that be that or is the sample size too small and its Hordichucks fault? Serious.

If Bozak has a clown game again, will it be because sample size of 6 years is too small and its all Phil's fault? Serious.

Hopefully Bozak isnt useless again. Too much to ask
Oh wait its Kessel's fault. Nevermind

I'm tired of the Negativity. Just Win, all the games, don't tank for a damned draft pick. (had to rewrite this a few times to fix language...)

Can we please avoid making everything into a Kadri vs Bozak-thing? It's possible to discuss one of them without automatically taking sides in that particular tiresome argument.

Can the Leafs change their core players and build through the draft without tanking (ie purposefully trying to lose), they most certainly can. I believe all of us can admit that losing stinks, regardless of potential draft position.

What is causing the negativity is the the proven lack of success of the core of the team. Winning some games is not going to do anything to remove the spots on the Leopard that is the Leafs, just paint over them.

i honestly hope we "win" tonight. i hope this "win" will motivate management to make some trades that will help this team "win" more games for the rest of the season.

Go Leafs Go.

Is Percy injured or something? It would make more sense to have him in. Oh well, I'm excited to Granberg - he played well on the last game of the season last year... even stopped a 4 on 1.

We need to revamp our PP with guys who have had success when let play there. Take Neon Dion off and go with..

JVR-Bozak-Kessel

Kadri-Franson.

Our 2nd Unit

Lupul/Komarov-Holland-Clarkson

Rielly-Dion.

The first PP unit the idea is to load up the skill and have Kadri set up guys from the point, Franson is elite at holding the line and has a bomb of a shot.

The three forwards basically move around and get guys moving until someone either gets open for a pass or gets a lane for Franson to shoot.

The 2nd PP is meant to cycle the puck. Clarkson around the net, Holland and Komarov to work the boards, with Rielly to set up plays on the point and Dion to shoot.

Well the Devils have Gomez centering their top line and Fraser in their top 4. Should be a close one

Reminder to everyone that only certain opinions are allowed here.

Any rebuild/tanking/losing talk needs to be in the designated thread.

Just hoping for Leafs to come in and do their thing. :naughty:

That is allowed right? ;)
