Actually, as someone frequently posts, waivers aren't free. It's cheaper to trade for a guy after he clears. Sutter used to talk about that when he ran the Flames here back in the day.

BTW - nice deal for the Leafs/Marlies.

I mean.. We know him already. He's good in the room. A good vet for the Marlies and if we need some depth with bite he can play a few games on the 4th line.

Call him up and play Clifford - Gabriel - Simmonds 4th line against a tougher team lmao
