Great deal for us. Feel for Brownie as the kid bled blue here. Going to be missed and wish him all the best... unfortunate part of the cap world. I know he's not a big name, but nice that we got Harpur here too. Huge body that can clear the front of the net on a PK. With Dermott out to start the year he may see a chance to grab a spot on the 3rd pair. Good to have depth options either way. All in all, good start to the day Dubas!

What a steal for the Leafs!! Ceci has been unfairly crapped on in Ottawa. He is a good player, durable, plays hard, and has much more offensive upside than the scrub Zaitsev. Ceci is BY FAR the best player in this deal.

Ceci has played his whole life in Ottawa. Played all his minor hockey growing up there, played his jr career with 67s (aside from less than half a season with Owen Sound) and has been with the Sens organization since day 1 with only a short stint in Binghamton. You think a change of scenery is going to be a shot in the arm for this kid? Wow. Zaitsev will be in the KHL in 2 years and Connor Brown is a dime a dozen player.

Make no mistake the Leafs got alot better and the defense got a major boost.

False, Zaitsev is the best player in the deal. He’s not a “scrub”, he had a terrible contract but that’s Lou’s fault not his.

We’re trading Brown too, Zaits for Ceci is fair, Connor as a nothing sweetener no. Getting a pick is good return, not like Brown has a huge deal and can’t play in the league. The pick tilts this to a good deal for the Leafs.

Zaitsev and Ceci are a wash as players, there contract situations are not however and that significantly favors Ceci

If Brown was the cost of doing business it was well worth it, that contract just isn't acceptable on a team as capped out as us

Luchuk should be a Marlie and could be a good one. Had 50 goals and 115 points in the OHL just two years ago. Is a natural center and doesn't need waivers next year.

Would be hilarious if we claimed Carcone off waivers in October.

One thing I won’t miss, Zaitsev with little pressure, panicking and throwing garbage up the boards to no one. Man.

We were already a big team. Hoping Harpur is flipped. Has all the makings of a Babcock favourite and I fear he'd play a bigger role than Dermott.

Yep but many will undersell just how messy it was/is out of wanting Dubas to fail because they either A.) Dont like analytics or B.) Wanted Mark Hunter as GM.

We now have some flexibility and that is huge with the timeline we're about to approach.
