I’d have the same top 3:
1. Ron Francis
2. Rod Brind’Amour
3. Eric Staal
But a bit different after that:
4. Cam Ward
5. Kevin Dineen
6. Mark Howe (influenced by the WHA years)
7. Glen Wesley
8. Justin Williams
9. Arturs Irbe
10. Pat Verbeek
What’s crazy is how many current players could very easily end up on this list, considering the age of the franchise. It’s not hard at all to see Aho/Svechnikov/Slavin on there in a few years, and even a guy like Jordan Staal is kind of creeping up on it.
Insane as it sounds, the Justin Faulk trade helped avoid an awkward situation in a couple of years when he would have caught RBA and Dineen in tenure, while also holding all the significant records for a D-man.
I agree with your list. However, I still go back and forth with Ward and Staal. I like how you included Irbe.
I mean one more deep playoff run and Aho/Svech/Slavin are right there already.
Hard to believe that actually seems like an argument for anyoneYep, comes down to Stevens vs. Johansson then
Are these in order? I'm not seeing MacKinnon above Stastny yet, or Hejduk or Foote above Goulet. Not sure Roy should be above Forsberg or Stastny either, as the team got only half his career.Joe Sakic

Most people seem to favour Kennedy over Broda.Goodness, I looked at this and wondered where Conacher, Primeau, and Butcher were, but I can't justify replacing any of the players on your list with them. The only change I think I'd make would be replacing Broda with Kennedy. No disrespect to Broda at all, just a bunch of respect for Kennedy.

Really want Coffey on there to better represent defensemen, but don't think his Pens career makes the cut.
