Seider is now coming.. what a last minute pickup!

It could be argued he's the best Dman in the tourney I think?

Sure. But I think it's safe to say that interview ruffled some feathers in the russian regime. I mean Panarin was immediately accused of some crime which supposedly happened back in 2011. And he hasn't played for Russia since and he might never play for their NT again.

Not exactly.

A year and half after Panarin's anti-Putin interview, his former Vityaz coach Andrei Nazarov accused him of assaulting a girl in a bar in 2011. Nazarov stated this to a tabloid and originally nobody cared; it made no sports news.
It wasn't until NY media got a hold of the story and sensationalized it did the frenzy make its way back to Russian media.

Even so, former teammates and former Vityaz GM Alexei Zhamnov made public statements supporting Panarin. Guess what happened to Zhamnov after supporting ‘anti-Putin’ Panarin? He was named head coach of the National Team not long after.

Panarin skipped the 2021 WC out of fatigue he said. Due to NHL playoffs, Covid and Russia’s suspension, he’s had no other opportunity to play for the NT. But Panarin was to be on the 2022 olympics if NHLers participated.
Panarin returns home in the off-season and runs popular yearly charity match in Moscow where numerous Russian hockey figures participate... even Putin supporters like Ovechkin and Orlov have taken part. And lets not forget Panarin's father in law is Oleg Znorok.
To claim Panarin is banned from the NT is just lies.

Nemec is coming! The NJ loss could REALLY help the Swiss who already have a nice squad.

People always shit on the USA roster as if they have the worst team in the tournament every year, but they've got the second most prolific scorer now.

Hischier, Fiala and William Nylander will join.

A severe lack of high-end defenders in the tournament. Seider is probably the best, followed by Weegar and Sandin. Slim pickings.

Yes, he has physical and exit talk tomorrow, if all is ok, he will come
Sucks about EP and RD.. The Swede team would've been massive GOLD favs with all that this year.

With Willy though, now in the gold talks.. starting to look like Swiss, Finn and Sweden are the big 3 here.

Yes, but our biggest weaknesses is still C and D. Kraken might get eliminated tonight, freeing up Larsson and Wennberg

The Nylanders love representant Sweden, his father always came when called upon as well. This year, both his brother and his close friend Sandln is on the team.

Alex Nylander said in an interview he had messaged with both Willy and Liljegren urging them to come. I don't know if Sweden mangement are interested in Liljegren tough. Larsson and Ekholm might become available

Ehlers playing for Denmark. Just cleared two hours before first game due to insurance problems after his injury.
Starts out with two goals against Hungary in a 3:1 Denmark win.

Sounds quite scary. At least on paper.
And with j.j moser/Siegenthaler they have two very decent NHL defenders too.

The Dahlin thing is just so very Dahlin extremely eager to play accepting the invite before the medical is cleared. Great sign about his attitude though!

For Finland it seems to be the usual suspects Rantanen, Manninen and Lehtonen.
I’m not sure you grasped the purpose of this thread. It’s about the performance of the top star-status NHL players in the NHL representing their country. Rantanen is probably the name brought up most. Because he is the biggest name in that concern.

What? Rantanen is still the biggest star. I made the post mostly because lehtonen hasn’t even been in the NHL for atleast two years.
