Rank Name Upside Floor
1. Jarred Tinordi (top-4 d-man) (top-4 d-man)
2. Nathan Beaulieu (top-4 offensive d-man) (top-6 offensive d-man)
3. Zachary Fucale (#1 goalie) (#2 goalie)
4. Michael McCarron (top-9 powerforward) (bottom-6 checker with some offensive instincts)
5. Sebastian Collberg (2nd line sniper) (3rd line offensive player)
6. Danny Kristo (2nd line sniper) (3rd line offensive player)
7. Darren Dietz (2nd pairing d-man) (top-6 d-man))
8. Jacob De La Rose (3rd line forward) (3rd line forward)
9. Tim Bozon (middle-9 sniper) (3rd line forward)
10. Arturri Lekhonen (top-9 finesse player) (AHL fodder)
11. Greg Pateryn (bottom-pairing d-man) (bottom-pairing d-man)
12. Charles Hudon (top-6 finesse player) (AHL fodder)
13. Brady Vail (bottom-6 center) (AHL fodder)
14. Sven Andrighetto (top-9 finesse player) (AHL fodder)
15. Dalton Thrower (top-6 d-man) (AHL fodder)

We already have Galchenyuk, Gallagher, Eller, Pacioretty and Subban who are still very young AND respectively having the upside of a 1st line centerman, top-6 sniper, top-9 two-way physical center, top-6 tall sniper capable of playing a power game and, in Subban's case, a Norris Trophy winner.

In the future:

Pacioretty - Galchenyuk - Gallagher
Collberg - Eller - Kristo
McCarron - De La Rose - Bozon
Crisp - Vail - White

Tinordi - Subban
Beaulieu - Dietz
Emelin - Pateryn

Price
Fucale

I think it looks rather bright. ALL of our d-men can lay the body, with Subban, Beaulieu and Dietz being able to play on the PP without ANY difficulty. We have 2 VERY good goalies. And up front, Galchenyuk, Gallagher, Eller, Kristo, Collberg, Pacioretty and Bozon can all play a finesse game, while guys like Crisp, Vail, White, De La Rose, McCarron are your meat and potatoes kind of guys who'll lay the body, fight, and make the opposition nervous.

We definitely have a complete group of prospects. Now is the time to try and find some rare pieces to add to this group, to improve the scoring potential even more.

On that group, I see:

C - Tinordi
A - De La Rose
A - Gallagher

Another interesting fact; out of ALL of our prospects, only Collberg we can say is a guy who is legitimately "soft" and unable to answer to physical aggression. The rest is ALL capable of facing the music. D-men included.

1. Collberg
2. Tinordi
3. Beaulieu
4. Kristo
5. Fucale
6. McCarron
7. Hudon

9. Bournival
10. Dietz
11. Bozon
12. Nygren
13. Leblanc

something like that.

I think Beaulieu and Tinordi both belong ahead of Collberg, both have top 3 upside. Collberg is probably a 2nd liner at best.

The only person I can see preventing Beaulieu from reaching his potential is Beaulieu.. Kid has unreal talent just needs to put it all together and maybe avoid some off ice distractions.. Worried about someone like him being in Montreal partying lol

That's less of a concern with the new administration compared to the old one. Once NB is full time NHL they'd probably have him stay at another player's house for a year.

I am no expert...But I find that you all rank Nygren way too low.

It's possible, but I would wait and see how he adjusts to the smaller ice first, before ranking him too high just yet.

Kind of off-topic but I think this spells the end of Leblanc. The organizational direction has definitely moved to bigger, more physical players and we already have higher end talent than him in Collberg and Kristo.

Perhaps but I don't agree it spells the end for him, if he bounces back and has a strong year he should be ok but another bad year and his future with the Habs will start to look very murky.

With that latest draft, really wondering about our D prospects now, would have liked a Bowey-type at least because our D pool seems really shallow with only Tinordi, Beaulieu and Dietz as sure things IMO (Nygren, Thrower, Ellis, Pateryn and Didier could amount to something)

The Habs have drafted 1 defensemen in the past 2 years now (thrower), so there's going to be an imbalance after taking so many forwards over that span (13 forwards). The Habs still have a number of interesting D prospects, so I wouldn't worry about it. That said for the next draft, some rugged stay at home LD's would be a welcome addition.

In the Beaulieu games I've seen, in Hamilton and at the WJC, he's been inconsistent. Great skater, good hands. Good wingspan, but more stork-like than solid physically. I see him as a bit of a tweener - not quite creative enough to be a top producing D, but also doesn't see the game like a minute eating, safe D. That said, he probably has enough tools to make it in some capacity, hence #7 on my list. I just don't see huge upside.

He needs to fill out his lower body more and I have a lot of concerns about his defensive zone play, but in the offensive zone he makes things happen which will get him to the NHL for sure. My question is will he end up more of a PP specialist, or will he end up a top 4. The talent is there along with a nice mix of physical abilities but he's still got a lot of work to do imo.

Man, you put Hudon in first. Nygren before Collberg and Beaulieu. Doesn't make sense, sorry.

I can certainly see why Hudon would be first on others list, if not for injury problems and his lack of size/strength I would have had him #1 on my season ending ranking. Nygren though I have much lower for now, just haven't seen enough of him and what I did see left me wondering how his game will translate on the smaller ice so I'm going to wait and see with him. Looking forward to watching him with the Dogs though.

I think Beaulieu and Tinordi both belong ahead of Collberg, both have top 3 upside. Collberg is probably a 2nd liner at best.

Personally I have Collberg over both as I think Collberg could have top line upside if everything goes right for him. Then again I think i'm higher on Collberg then most, and I haven't seen a ton of him so once he's over here i'll have a better feel for what he can do. But I don't see anything wrong with having any of the 3 over one another as all 3 are among our top prospects.

The only person I can see preventing Beaulieu from reaching his potential is Beaulieu.. Kid has unreal talent just needs to put it all together and maybe avoid some off ice distractions.. Worried about someone like him being in Montreal partying lol

It's a legit concern based off things i've heard in the past, but hopefully with the new management team they are keeping a close eye on him.

Not many high on Bozon then?

I am, still not sure what his upside is yet but I have liked what i've seen from him so far.

Jarred tinordi has out played beaulieu every time I've seen them play. Wjc goes to tinordi. Mem cup goes to tinordi. Nhl stint goes to tinordi. So why would our top prospect be beaulieu. I know he has better upside but still

I like Reway, MacMillan, Vail, Nystrom, Pateryn, Thrower, Bennett, Crisp, Gregoire, Sullivan and Didier.

Not a fan of Holland, Nattinen and Bournival. Nattinen might have a chance at a bottom 6 role with some PK time...

Not enough love for Bozon , this kid has got some mad skill he reminds me of Tanguay so much.
In my eyes Bozon is slightly ahead of guys like Collberg/Kristo/Hudon... it's very hard to predict NHL potential but Bozon just seems like a gamer.
I also like Kristo's game I think it will translate well to the NHL he is reminds me of Patrick Kane (not talent wise but just the type of game he plays).

Smallish offensive prospects, i wonder wich one is gonna make it. I would be happy with 2 NHLers out of that lot.

What's the criteria? Potential? Closest to the nhl? Players who make the biggest impact?

If it goes by potential + nhl readiness

1. Beaulieu
2. Tinordi (Tinordi is ready imo, but Beaulieu has higher upside)
3. Kristo
4. Collberg
5. Fucale (while he may be far from nhl ready, his potential puts him above most of our prospect pool)
6. Hudon
7. Bozon
8. De La Rose
9. Deitz
10. McCarron
11. Ellis

I don't really agree. Kane's style doesn't translate well at all to the NHL, he is soft and shies away from dirty areas, like Olivier Archambault for exemple. Only reason he's in the NHL is because he has world-class skills and hockey sense. If Kristo's game is Kane minus the skills, ouch. He will not make it. I view him as more involved physically than Kane and better defensively. Kristo to me has 20-30-50 potential on a 2nd or 3rd line. Brings a lot of speed and intensity.

As for Bozon let's see how he does in the AHL first... Kristo is ahead of him he made the WHC with the USA... Collberg is our top offensive prospect and Hudon is basically very similar to Bozon but made the Canada WJCs. I get that Bozon is very skilled and fast but our prospect pool is very deep so I don't think he makes the top-10.

The trade that just happened doesn't completely prove my point, but I always had the feeling that Kristo was overrated (Many of you put him in position 3-5)
