Fucale has the potential to be a top 10 prospect in next year's hockeysfuture prospect ranking.

Find it sickening that our 2nd pick of the whole draft falls at 12. We could've done far better. On the other hand, thanks to Fucale we now have a really good group of goaltenders. Fucale, Condon and Tokarski is really good going forward.

Not nad but DLR should definitely be 8th IMO.

The only one to me he could challenge is Bournival.

The rest are either better player now or have a lot more upside. Also, Leblanc has been a pet-prospect of mine for a while, I learned to love his play.

So at best, he would be 11th for me, but then again Nygren and Bozon could challenge him if we see it that way. Really did not like this pick and the Andrighetto pick, even though I like both players.

For now, McCarron and Fucale are lower but they might very well rise higher.

McCarron is low risk high reward kind of pick.
Low risk: At worst he is a third line player who adds a lot of toughness to our team.
High reward: At best, he becomes a top-6 player who has 6'7", 250 lbs and is unmoveable in front of the net.
We know for sure that he hits and is very physical in his game.
Fighting is a bonus, because at this size, very few will try him.
Given his recent progression, we could very well be happier with him than Morin.

Fucale is also a high risk/high reward pick.
Since Carey Price who was picked up 5th, following goalies were first pick on the draft:
  • Andrei Vasilevski - 19th;
  • Magnus Hellberg - 38th;
  • Jack Campbell - 11th;
  • Mikko Koskinen - 31st;
  • Chet Pickard - 18th;
  • Joel Gistedt - 36th;
  • Jonathan Bernier - 11th.
According to Button, Fucale is the best goalie in a very long time.
Seems also that top young goalies in recent years are picked in first or second round.
Most of us were not even hoping for Fucale and were pitching for Jarry.

BTW, McCarron is 237, not 228. Someone on 98.5 said that he is very much into training. Also heard that he did improve very much this season.
I love the idea that the Knights offered three conditional 2nd round for him.
The Hunter brothers are pretty good at judging talent... and developing them.

Let's give them a year before saying they are top-6 in our pool.
Beaulieu, Tinordi, Collberg and Kristo have more chance to be NHL'rs than both these guys.
I have great hope that McCarron could become a top-3 once Tinordi is out of that list.
By mid season, we will know better.

No idea why some people here are putting Collberg in front of De La Rose and Fucale, and sometimes even in front of McCarron...

Collberg hasn't shown much of anything except on the shootout so far.

Have you watched them play? Seems like an opinion based on stats and size.....

At the U20, playing kids his age, he has shown some promises.

Not sure where I'd have him in my order yet but Fucale will likely be the prospect I'm most interested in just because of what this pick has the potential to become.
