Let me just leave this here...
Next round - really, really hoping for Malkin, Firsov, and Brimsek.
It's looking like the dirty little secret is that Firsov may have been NL'd on some Preliminary Lists. [I proclaim my innocence, though!] Malkin's a good Forsberg-comparable. (Doesn't necessarily mean I'm longing for him, however.) Brimsek arrives on schedule if we see him next.

How about Andy Bathgate (to shame Geoffrion), and Earl Seibert?

The fact that we're still waiting for Sprague Cleghorn indicates that (as Dennis pointed out) the selectively-applied "Filthy-Factor" is hitting him hard. Currently have no strong feelings about this one way or the other, yet.

Silly question time. When are the results of Vote 10 to be published? I thought the deadline was this past weekend.

Apps deserved #1. Dryden and Coffey* were due. Richard deserved it (perhaps a few spots higher but that's a minor quibble).

Tretiak and Forsberg look well positioned for next round, as they should.

Only real question - why a big gap between Park and Pilote?

*I actually had Coffey 6th, but close enough .

Still a pretty good level of participation - 27 votes (84% participation) halfway through the project.

Lots of spread in the voting - to borrow a baseball term, Park, Coffey, Tretiak and Forsberg all "hit for the cycle".

Interesting that Schmidt is the only person ranked on all 27 ballots - but he only ranked 8th out of 11. He was on every ballot, but only Gefforion got fewer top three votes.

EDIT - I agree with TDMM - Pilote was lower than expected.

I actually had Park a little lower rather than Pilote higher, but either way, saw them as similar cases. Maybe Pilote got more blame for playoffs than Park did?

I'm... actually surprised at how small the gap is between Geoffrion and Conacher, and I know that Geoffrion couldn't have been lower.

I was quite the outlier this time around.
My 1-2 didn't advance (which, at least, figures to make that part of my ballot yea much easier next Round).

My NR DID advance. This was expected, based on the chalk from the last Round. Apps, Dryden, and Park formed the podium, which was expected. Not surprised that Apps went around Dryden- but Apps just out-60-footed him this time, which I didn't expect [but was one of the rare pleasant surprises for me]. From where I sat, the battle all along was going to be: Coffey/H. Richard/Tretiak, 3 to choose 2. Aaaand- those former two extended the gap on Tretiak.

The fact that I anticipated this once again saves me from having an IE/Jágr-grade freak-out.

Who says one Vote doesn't matter?! My ballot personally kept H. Richard from going around Coffey.

Agree with a late-breaking sentiment, above. Haven't fully worked out why Dryden gapping Tretiak is a thing. I also seem to give more slack to Wingers than the rest of the Tribe. Jágr, Ovechkin, Makarov, Cook, Bossy, Kharlamov and Conacher ALL placing lower than I have them.

I voted. Been super busy with work past few weeks so haven't been posting as much, but still reading everything.

I'm actually very happy with the results. My top 3 went in - as did my 6th. Park is the one i was a bit lower on then some. Also - I guess i was higher on Geoffrion than most...but I do like my Art Rosses

Some matching...

Forsberg was my 2, Malkin was my 3, Schmidt was my 5 (which he narrowly missed), Brimsek was my 7, Boom Boom was my 8, Marcel Dionne was my 9.

Happy with 21 and 71 moving in, I think that's on merit for sure...

Interesting how the emphasis has shifted from goal scorers to more complete players.

Three of the bottom five were predominantly goalscorers.

Yeah, the group seemed to really fetishize one-dimensional, goal-scoring wingers earlier on than I would have liked...I guess there's a line that's been crossed that has kept similarly incomplete players like Conacher and Geoffrion down...I don't know what it is though...

That said, in fairness, Malkin isn't very well-rounded overall...but he offers more multi-dimensional offensive aptitude, better puck carrier, etc.

Conacher ending wherever he's gonna end up really, but really won't compute with the rankings of Bobby Hull, Mike Bossy and Alexander Ovechkin.

I also really, but really disagree with this group regarding both Tretiak and Forsberg.

But I totally agree with the other three being voted in.

I'm a little surprised Malkin finished third, the push for him was obviously stronger than I realized.

Agree for the most part. One exception - I would have Conacher in and Malkin out.
