I'd take 5 centers now, possibly 6 or 7.

Trottier, Sakic, H.Richard, Taylor, Lalonde.Possibly Frank Boucher.

Robinson would be fine too.

Lidstrom is already in, yet it's unclear to me why he's any better than Joe Sakic.

Bill Cook, Sergei Makarov, and Joe Sakic are my wishlist.

Makarov is highest unavailable player for me, so I agree.
I'd rather Mike Bossy than Bill Cook if we get a winger. I could see Sakic showing up, i'd be ok with it.

Trottier has been mentioned a few times and in retrospect i think I had him listed too low in my initial list. Still think it might be 1 round early on him though.

Hate Ovechkin over Lafleur, but overall I'm fine with those results.Surprised Clarke is so low though.
I found this round quite difficult. Virtually everybody (IMO) was ready for the top 5 (with the possible exception of Sawchuk). Heck, everybody outside of Sawchuk was ready for the top 4.

I like the results.

Very happy to see Messier, Lafleur and OVI make it - and also very happy to see Ovi above Lafleur - as I think he should be for a winger based on an extended prime by now. I ended up putting Messier ahead of Nighbor (think it was other way around last vote) - but no issue seeing him rank high.

It's probably a good thing Mikita made it - I feel this is maybe the first player I was unjustly harsh on in voting. I had him a lot higher on my initial list but he kept looking more unappealing to me as rounds progressed and i kept voting him low.

Ovechkin - two surprises with him. One, he had 7 first place votes (surprised he received so many... thought perhaps he'd get a couple). Secondly, surprised he was unranked by one.

Sawchuk - as high as 2nd, and a whopping 18 folks had him "NR".

Glenn Hall had a very even distribution of votes through almost all rounds, as did Phil Esposito.

Wow. I was sure Glenn Hall would sneak in due to lack of controversy/presence of more controversial players. He'll probably end up quite close to Mikita in the end, which would be mostly accurate.

I think there's something wrong in having BOTH Ovechkin and Lafleur make it before Makarov is even eligible. I had Ovechkin amongst my Top-5, so it's not like I think it's too soon for him or anything... but we had one player who really, really shouldn't have been in this group.

Pretty happy with the results. Nighbor wasn't my #1, but I knew he would finish there and I'm fine with it. Messier and Ovechkin were my two "must adds" this round. Really thought Mikita and Hall would be closer, but not a huge deal.

The 4 last place votes for Hall are a bit strange, to be honest. Seems like that keeps happening with the earlier goalies.

Not surprised by Ovechkin's unranked vote - i don't agree with it, but at least a cpl of people have raised being wholly unimpressed by his goal-scoring with little else to go with it in the past few seasons, so I expected some very low votes.

No issue with 7 1st place votes. I think voters in this project have made it clear so far they value extended elite prime quite a bit (Gretzky large majority over Orr, Jagr high, Bourque high, Roy high over Hasek). Those aren't exactly all exact parallels - but still. Many more seasons is usually better than less - even if peak isn't as high.

I had Sawchuk NR also. Judging by the conversations, not at all surprised many others did too. Disappointed Esposito is so low - but i'm hoping he gets in next round.

Happy Nighbor went where he did. Kind of shocked Fetisov didn't make it. I still don't get Ovechkin over guys like Esposito and Lafleur, but I didn't really get Jagr either, so I'll just give that one a big, hearty shrug and move on.

Thought Ovechkin and Esposito would be closer to each other, whether or not they made the list this vote.

Good vote, I think. Nothing stands out as too unusual. The 2nd place vote for Sawchuk caught my eye.

Actually, my main surprises were the vast range between highest and lowest for Ovechkin and Sawchuk. How someone could pick a person as high as first or second and as low as 11th shows how subjective the voting is. And to someone who doesn't always buy into the most popular paradigm, that is often a good thing.

I had Ovechkin fourth and Sawchuk 11th.

Not sure why the field liked Nighbor so much, if they hated Clarke so much.
Clarke is separated from 6th (Fetisov) by less than Fetisov is separated by #5, and by way more than Clarke is separated from Sawchuk. It was actually pretty tight groupings of the top 5 and bottom 5.

Also - Clarke has some longevity/offensive issues that Nighbor doesn't have.

I'm thinking that where there is Sakic, there may also be Yzerman.

I hope not. There's a crap ton of Yzerman-caliber centers: Frank Boucher, Milt Schmidt, Syl Apps, Henri Richard, Newsy Lalonde, Cyclone Taylor, and arguably a few others. It's hard to handle plateaus or tiers like this one in a structure like this project has.Unfairness is almost a guarantee due to early or late eligibility.

Pretty displeased with Ovechkin and Lafleur being this high actually...neither were in my top 5...I also value wings much less than most probably...predictably incomplete wings...there's no less impactful player...

As a huge Yzerman fan...

Sakic's case is better than his. Anyway, I still feel like it'd be about a round too early for Sakic. Makarov, Robinson, Chelios, Trottier, and maybe Bossy would be good. Also good would be maybe Boucher, Lalonde, Taylor, or someone else like that.
