This one here is Bryan McCabe fairly easily imo. He produced more than haneuf during his time here, played more minutes as a #1 defensemen should, and played more shorthanded than Phaneuf during his time here.

So I ask you HF, what does Phaneuf excel at that makes him better than McCabe?

lol McCabe was so horribly exposed when his "can opener" became outlawed.

He was a slightly better Cody Franson....

Kubina for Exelby....

People love to talk about Burke's fleecings but this is the worst Leafs trade since John Kordic for Russ Courtnall.

Yeah..Good Riddance
.

Not sure if hyperbole too hard or don't even follow the Leafs.

Kubina was obviously better than XLB, but really Kubina was a good second pair guy more than anything.

Raycroft for Rask was a much worse blunder on the Kordic - Courtnall scale...

Perhaps yes...but not at the time of the trade it wasn't...and you know who holds the Leafs goalie record for most wins? Like it or not its Andrew Raycroft.

Grant Exleby was an AHLer/fringe NHLer..about as horrible as horrible gets. Might as well just gave away Kubina for a bucket of pucks..literally.

Rask trade turned out to be a stunning and glaring mistake...but he was a prospect at the time and could have turned into Justin Pogge.

In hindsight, because Rask is a great tender....and Raycroft fizzled out..yes that trade was worse.
