.966 SV% for Cossa tonight and .958 SV% for the series thus far. :yo:

Tyutyayev at over 1 PPG but also -1 in the playoffs thus far. What a bizarre stat line, but it's only three games.

He had 5 pts in 30 AHL games, so no big deal he is doing well in the ECHL.

Lethemon in net. Kinda surprised.
Prior to Lethemon getting called to the AHL it was a straight rotation between him and Cossa during that ridiculous streak, no? If it worked then, no reason not to keep doing it in the playoffs. Especially if it seems to be working for the two goalies.

Lethemon with the pedestrian .857 SV% but the Walleye move on to Round 2. All aboard the Cossa train. Toot toot.

Tytyayev with a goal so he had 5 points in 4 games and is now even in plus/minus.

The Walleye kick off the second round tomorrow (Cinco de Mayo!) against Cinci. We have Cossa, Tyutyayev and maybe GR's new coach to cheer for.

LFG! Playoff hockey!

Toledo wins Game 1 of Round 2 on the Road 6-2... 15 Saves for Cossa

5 PPGs for the Walleye (one of those was Tyutyayev)

Game 2 tomorrow night at 7:30
Tyutyayev with 4 points and was -1. Is he PP specialist in the EC? His stat lines are a trip. Not a great save percentage for Cossa, but he didn't face many shots.

The 2 goals cossa gave up he didn’t really have a chance on. I think he made a lot of quality saves too. I just hope whatever coach we get in GR next year is actually good at developing talent and helping players make the transition, I can’t believe we let GR rot with Ben Simon for so long. It was honestly baffling.

Toledo should have a pretty big advantage here and a good chance to take two road wins right off the bat with Cincinnati having just gone to game 7 and finished it with a back to back on Tue & Wed. Now another back to back to start this series.

TJ Hensick is still playing? Wow.
Hope Tyutyayev can get a better look at GR next year.

Tyut had a good enough look, 5 pts in 30ish games leaves no great impression. This comes from someone who liked what they saw in Wings camp last year, but if he can't produce in the AHL he isn't making the NHL.

New coach. Maybe the Toledo coach.
They might be more inclined to give him a role he can thrive in.

Nothing to do with coaching though. He is doing well in the ECHL cause it is much less a good league then the AHL. His stats aren't even that great either, as a good pro player should be able to do over a ppg in the ECHL.

He's tied for first in the ECHL in p/g for U24 skaters.
Those are pretty great stats.
In the history of Toledo Walleye, only one U24 skater has matched that.
So, I think he's earned a better look.

It's ECHL though. We get on people like Zadina's case for not doing things and he is younger in a much harder league. Tyut is already 24, and is what he is. Probably a 25-35 pt AHL/KHL player.

He's over 1.5 ppg in the ECHL?

Overall I think he's had a very positive season. And what he's done since coming to NA by overcoming a big injury right off the bat and now doing well shows a lot of character. If he re-signs with GR and Watson is the coach, I think he'll get a chance in a role that better fits his skill set. Pretty sure he played mostly bottom line minutes under Simon.

Good players produce pts no matter their minutes and usage though.

My guess is Tyutyayev is a power play specialist. I would like to see what he would look like in Grand Rapids with the Toledo coach. His point production in the playoffs is impressive, that alone should give him at least one more shot in Grand Rapids. With that being said, he doesn't seem to be so great at even strength in the ECHL, so that is something that is probably going to be tough to fix.
