Should have clarified: Those numbers in the table are from 2012-13.

My last line was about the last two seasons combined. I'll provide the numbers:

Last two years:
Player | SHTOI | PPGA60
James vanRiemsdyk | 174| 2.07
Tyler Bozak | 145 | 4.97
Jay McClement | 453 | 6.89
Nikolai Kulemin | 286 | 7.13

Just for 2013-14, though:
Player | SHTOI | PPGA60
James vanRiemsdyk | 117 | 2.56
Tyler Bozak | 69 | 6.09
Jay McClement | 277 | 8.88 (!!!!)
Nikolai Kulemin | 181 | 7.62

YIKES, and I was under the impression that most the goals were scored when McClement left the ice and the second unit came on.

I went through about half the season just to get an idea, and it seems he was on for a lot of PP goals, with Phaneuf and Franson around as well. I was under the impression Gunnarsson was first PK guy, not Franson, unless that changed later?

Definitely wouldn't have hurt signing him to a 1 year deal

Fair enough

There are still guys on this team who are far more used to losing than McClement

That's a huge difference in minutes played for McClement. What are the defense numbers?

Agreed.

I figured the only reason the Leafs didn't sign him is that he probably wanted a raise over his 1.5M salary. Apparently not. I don't get this from a Leafs perspective.

I truly believe that everything Nonis has done since the end of the season and Shanny's hiring has been to slow down his demise, or chance of. Firing the assistants but keeping Randy? Randy is one more excuse for him. Getting rid of all the bottom six pretty much? Saving the core (which isn't necessarily a bad thing) for one more shot. That allows him to fire Randy and trade a big player and blame them for everything. Biggest reason I don't believe there has been a culture change. These players haven't been here for 15 years. Ownership makes lots of money and that is the only success that matters. Think about it. If you did a complete ****** job, yet, you got paid and congratulated with more and more money, what is your incentive to do better?

Don't have the numbers (I compiled these spreadsheets months ago) and I honestly don't feel like taking the time to pull them for the d-corps. Everything sourced from NHL.com.

Alright I lied, I went ahead anyways:

Player | SHTOI | PPGA | PPGA60
Cody Franson | 130 | 18 | 8.31
