Haha definitely. Mods are doing a great job tonight.... hopefully we don't have many more nights with reason for overreaction
This should be the last one, with the last 38 games nothing but smooth sailing.

here's an attempt to break this down to 3 possible options:
1. the players don't like eachother, they don't want to play together
2. the players don't like their coach, they don't want to play for him
3. the talent just isn't there to win games
I'd go with #2, but #1 is also a good possibility. This collection of guys simply isn't working. When was the last time you were at a party with 20 guys and all 20 guys liked eachother? That's right... probably never. But in this case it might be even worse and that the room is divided into many groups and they just don't want to play as a unit. Teams don't win games when players' egos are in the way. Stanley Cup teams are teams with a full 20 guys on board and getting along with eachother... maybe this team just doesn't like eachother.
I doubt it's #3... this team has some really good players. They just aren't playing. It's not a slump. It's a case of just not wanting to play.
So I say #2... fair or not fair, Carlye will probably take the fall
In the past decade:
Turned over Rosters
Turned over Coachs
Turned over training staff (Goaltending, PK, PP)
Turned over GMs
Turned over Management
Turned over ****ing ownership
Seriously wtf? the only constant is Leafs fans and Toronto.

Reiterate what I said a couple of nights ago, there is something wrong with this team, and changes are needed. Whether this is a major deal or a coaching change.
The chemistry is not right on this team, and after tonight's shellacking you don't need me to tell you this tonight.
Umm one other constant.
Not having your roster built throught the draft.
Add to that, rarely having a top centre with a top winger together.... let alone secondary scoring alongside
Kind of like blaming Star Trek fans for crappy sequels isn't it?
I'm sorry because it's so true.
i think with some of this crew, I feel that they simply don't respect the sweater. I'm sorry that's 96 years of tradition you toss on your back 3-4 x a week, and I honestly think sometimes people forget - I don't really get the feeling that people "like" the players (sure, tucker/domi were BELOVED because we like intense and fighter people and I know people still worship the ground Clark walks on). but in the case of Kadri, Lupul, etc? people don't like YOU. people love this -
and I would really love it if someone (media/management etc) told people that in public. (hell privately even). the only reason why people like you in this city is because you wear the Leaf. so you should at least respect it and try freaking harder because if you get traded - sure people may still follow you but you'll be replaced and they'll be 'the loved one'. rinse. repeat.

I am convinced they need a sports psychologist in there. I don't think it's lack of respect for the organization. Get a coach like Bylsma and they will turn around, need some personnel changes as well but a positive coach will get them there more quickly.
you'd think they'd have one?!
[if they do - he/she needs to be fired.]

DJ , this is my 41 rst straight year of playing.
I can say with a bit of confidence that I know a little bit about what it takes to have a good locker room, to have a good team before they even step on the ice to start the game.
They don't have this .
One looks around this locker room and what do they see?
Kessel getting 8 million per for playing a extremely soft one dimensional game. Absolutely no sacrifice on his part for the team.
Bozak #1c ,just inked 4.2m ,another guy who refuses to bleed and battle for his teammates. This guy has no battle.
I am captain Dion , MR I'm worth being paid as one of the best D in the league , great example setter there. Where did his battle go?
Mr I want more Franson? Mr I'm worth 5.5m intangible Clarkson?
Lups/Kadri with Kessel disease? I only need to play one side of the puck?
I'm sorry because it's so true.

Toss in the softy Raymond and now we're the Oilers.
Panic now could have been avoided through foresight.
At the beginning of the season the Leafs were not playing very well but were winning on outstanding goaltending stealing games. More lucky then good, but it gave the wrong impression that everything was fine.
It would have been easily predicted of rough seas ahead, because the evidence would suggest this is not sustainable over time and if not corrected will lead to trouble. This teams current struggles to compete were the expected outcome as time passed.
Advanced stats are available today that can assist in exposing team weakness and issues of concern.
The moral of the story that even in wins there is evidence of systemic problems and are only being masked and shouldn't be ignored. Time to fix them is when you identify them not when its too late and panic sets in.
