Bring me back to 2006...
lol of course its the RFA with a french name.
That's not a French name. Leblanc, sure. Leblond, yeah ok. Laliberté, also from there.
Labanc is bogus, it sure as **** ain't French.
lol of course its the RFA with a french name.
But then he can't get a 5th round pick. How won't be able to sleep if that happens.I can imagine Bergevin Offersheet a 4th liner
his speciality
I could 100% bergevin giving an offersheet to the 3rd or 4th best RFA instead of the best one just to spite a division rival.Habs bout to offersheet Marner.
Can you imagine?
Learn something new every dayIt's actually a Slovakian name.

No, I'm pretty sure they would rather have a 1st and a 3rd than pay Labanc 5.75 million per year. But that's academic because no one would offer him that kind of money.Sharks match anything under 6.
See below.I could 100% bergevin giving an offersheet to the 3rd or 4th best RFA instead of the best one just to spite a division rival.
The way I see it the RFA forwards are in 2 tiers
Tier 1:
Point
Rantanen
Marner
Aho
Laine
Tier 2:
Everyone else but I think Connor and Tkachuk are a lot closer to that first tier than the rest.
As a leaf fan I am okay with a team giving marner an offer sheet as long as its 11m. It would suck to lose the home town kid but the team can manage. I think there are better targets for the habs but hey if you wanna do it MB go nuts.
Once Armia and Lehky are signed for roughly 5 million for both we will have roughly 3.5 mill remaining.
Add to that a possible backup at 1.5 mill and you are left with 2 million.
What in blazes can we do with 2 mill as an offer sheet?
Lebrun smoking again that legal spliff!
Maybe the Marner feels it would be the only way to get the leafs to pony up the type of money their chasing. A leverage tool. Can you imagine him signing it? I can't.
no GM is sacrificing 4 first rounders for anyone but McDavid
The Habs won’t be a non-playoff team for much longer. If we were in the west, we would’ve been the 6 seed. It's actually a Slovakian name.
I would personally let Labanc go for an unprotected 1st from a team that drafted 15th and 3rd in the past two years.
You don't "sign" a player to an offer sheet. The player themself signs the offer sheet.I could see the Habs sneakily dropping a bomb and signing Provorov to a sheet. This is their chance to get their Andrei Markov 2.0 for a decade for picks.
I'd be pretty happy getting their next 4 picks.Habs bout to offersheet Marner.
Can you imagine?
I'd be pretty happy getting their next 4 picks.
Rumor was they almost threw one out on Draisaitl.. That's what drove his price up
youd get firedI would happily surrender four first round picks for Brayden Point on a 7-year deal.
Well it would be good for the rivalryHabs bout to offersheet Marner.
Can you imagine?
Wrong.no GM is sacrificing 4 first rounders for anyone but McDavid
Wrong.
You can go through almost any team and find a recent 4 year span where you'd gladly take Marner or Point then the guys taken.
I agree with this. I’ve always had the opinion that 8-9 out of 10 times, four consecutive 1sts generally won’t get you a Marner/Point caliber player. But it’s HF. Futures and picks are way overvalued here.Wrong.

Im deadThat's not a French name. Leblanc, sure. Leblond, yeah ok. Laliberté, also from there.

sure, but who will have the guts to do it? Theres a reason why its never acutally happened since Scott Stevens.... 29 years agoWrong.

2020 draft in Montreal, no way MB gives up his 1st unless he has a plan up his sleeve to aquire another one
I wouldnt bet any of my own money the guy can walk and chew gum at the same time so don't think he could pull off a mulit-layered transaction
Needs to call in Kevin Costner from Draft Day
