Robbie Brown has to be up there in that he played full-time with Mario for a while and produced little in comparison when not attached to Mario's hip...he's also among the worst skaters and worst defensive players I've ever seen play the game, so when he wasn't producing he was an absolute liability. Warren Young as well, to a lesser degree.
Sid & Geno have had some real garbage linemates, but few have stayed there full-time, more of a carousel of crap. The fact that Andy Hilbert isn't anywhere near the worst player to get 15+ games with those guys says it all.
So annoying when people answer Cheechoo to this type of question. Such an underrated player around here
My vote goes to Smith-Pelly. Should be way better. I don't know how he doesn't get a point per game playing with Getzlaf.
Cory Conacher played with Tavares and he was awful. May have made JT worse this season.

Wth happened to Conacher? He had a solid stretch with the Lightning then just fell off a cliff apparently; haven't kept up with him.
Yeh, people who think he is/was a bad hockey player look at stats and never watched him when he was lighting it up...
One dimensional? Possibly. (his boardplay was good but his D sucked.)
Bad skater? Certainly.
Thornton inflated? Surely.
Bad hockey player? No way.
Injuries were really what killed him in the NHL, his already poor footspeed just became untenable in a league constantly getting faster.
He is still a ~PPG player in the KHL age 34, which is a hard league to be PPG in.
He was also a ~30 goal, ~50 point player before Thornton stepped foot in San Jose in one of the lowest scoring years in NHL history.
He would have been a 30+ goal scorer and on a 1st line for a few years on his own merit without Thornton.
