Germany looks nervous...
And its defense leaves a lot more to be desired.

Argentina looks good with the chances that they have.

Nazi hunters should be on the lookout in Argentina for cheering 90 year old men

Messi had a chance with his freekick at the end. That would've been talked about for ages if it went in.

Oh yeah that would have been incredible, although then go to penalties where Germany owns

After 8 years and 2 World Cups...
I finally understand what offside is.
This is probably the most consistent officiating I have seen in a long time.

Germany is the only team I got right...
All the way through.
Granted...
I always rooted for Germany ever since 2006...
So I will tend to get one right...
One of these days.
I am just glad it came sooner rather than latter.

Agreed. In the final, there was the missed rake on Schweinsteiger, and the missed handball on Neuer. Aside from those two, nothing egregious was missed IMO (though the handball was fairly major as it could have changed the result of the game).

Still, great game, and a well deserved win by the Germans.

About the Neuer one...
Do you mean the one where he hit Higuaín in the neck when he punched the ball?
That was borderline...
But I think the ball was still in the square.

Edit: I looked at it again.
Higuaín was about two or three steps in the box when the collision happened...
And the ball was about a step to him.
The refs made the right call on that one.

The Schweinsteiger one was not a missed call per say...
The refs just refused a yellow or red.
They wanted a full strength matchup...
And while I did not agree with their decision...
I can understand it.

Germany showing again that they are better at World Cups than World Wars!
Full value to Germany, they were the best team at the tourney.

This Is technically their first World Cup because it's the first one since the west is back with the east. Old United Germany doesn't count either because that was a diffrent country too.

If not then Vancouver has won a Stanley cup. The one in 1915

Fantastic win by Germany. What a goal for Goetze. His GF is also super hot.

His GF is super hot ? Really.. For some reason , I thought she was really fat and unattractive.

Meh about Germany. I'll keep my thoughts on Germany to myself.

Ok guys since the World Cup is over and the talk has winded down to discussing players wives, I think it's time to say goodbye to the World Cup thread. Thanks for all of you coming around and discussing the tournament together! It was a ton of fun.
