I have no problem with Flames fans asking for the moon for Tkachuk. He is a great player with a hard to come by skill set.

And I am also not interested to see the Flyers pay that price.

Couturier Patrick and Konecny would return close to any player in the league for Christs sake.

Matthew would cost a lot, and that is fine.

He has similar value to Konecny and it would take a lot for me to part with TK.

Getting Brady on the other hand is more realistic.

If he falls to ~7+ then the Flyers could trade up without any real dent in their prospect pool/young talent.

Flyers get the 3rd overall pick and either draft Tkachuk at 3 over Zadina or swap with Ottawa if Svechnikov is available for some additional pieces, as well as Matty. They also get an elite LW to slot in on the top line with Giroux and Voracek

Flames go from two picks in the first 3 rounds of 2018/2019 (1/3 in 2019) to having four first round picks in two years, and get an NHL ready 2C.

The Flames aren't giving up Tkachuk and Brodie for that package. Yes, I realize that's four first rounders and maybe even another high one if the Canadiens suck, but the Flames aren't rebuilding. Tkachuk is exactly the kind of player the Flames need to win.
