Motherf***er...news finally reached me that Chromatics broke up last week. I'm running out of favorite bands. Protect Beach House at all costs.



If I had to pick two bands to define my aesthetic it'd be Modest Mouse and Chromatics. I can't stress how much I belonged in 2000s Portland.

Chromatics rule, but basically everything on Italians Do It Better sounds like a Chromatics side project.

Desire and Orion were doing a DJ set at the Ace Hotel in Palm Springs last week. I wanted to go, but I think it might have been cancelled due to COVID.

Yeah, I kinda got the vibe the rest of the band was tired of waiting for him to do his scoring/other projects. But man, they did go out on a high note!

hadnt thought of these guys in a couple decades...saw them in minneapolis in '83 or maybe '85, it's...blurry...

they werent great musicians or groundbreaking (they did some fun stuff producing that I dont think any other punk bands were doing, but...) I think I remember reading the kurt cobain sited them as an inspiration, for what thats worth...
