This team is lightyears ahead of where it was when Shero took over. Where did Taylor Hall come from? Kyle Palmieri? Nico Hischier? Jesper Bratt?
Look at the big picture instead of a meaningless game against LA in February. Let’s say he went out and signed JvR, Shattenkirk, De Haan, and Martin Hanzal in free agency over the past 2 offseasons. This team would be on the bubble at best, and tied forever with bloated contracts. What do you think Shero should have done to this point that he hasn’t?
I didn't make myself clear. Right now this team is performing worse than the woefully talented team Shero started with. He continues to stand by a coach who has shown that he will not be in the NHL long as a head coach. The team is tailspinning AND HE EXTENDED HIM??????!!!! OVER MULTIPLE YEARS!!!!???? Do we even know how many???!!!
Hynes is out of tricks, (he only had one to begin with). The team is lost. If Lou came in tomorrow, I don't think Hynes would be behind the bench. That is a lost locker room. The f***ing goalie is crying???!!! While I was not a Pete fan, I can see why some vehemently defended him. This team would be more boring, yes, but it wouldn't be this shitshow.
If the owners wanted to change the culture, I mean, they did it. You literally have the exact opposite culture.
I’m sure this losing takes its toll. I can make a plausible argument that keeping Hall away from that locker room is a good thing in that the misery won’t get to him and he won’t sour on the team since he can just come in for rehab and then go home and workout and enjoy himself.
What does that say about Hall as a leader? The entire system has been designed to let him play offense. I could probably find one picture a game where he's cherry picking and not playing defense. People bashed Kovy for this, but why is Hall immune from this criticism?
