Bruins wouldn't be sniffing the playoffs this season without Rask. He's the reason we are in PO position.

Losing Krejci (again) or Bergeron would be really bad and we would probably miss the playoffs without them too, but Rask being injured would literally end the season.

Pretty easy answer for the Flames. Sven Baertschi.

With Baertschi in the line-up:

Flames are 12-3-0 (Pro-rated to 131 point pace over 82 games)

Without Baertschi in the line-up:

Flames are 16-17-3 (Pro-rated to 80 point pace over 82 games)

Can't argue stats.

Alex Ovechkin or Braden Holtby. It would really come down to whether or not Grubauer can sustain what he did in the NHL last season or not. If he couldn't, kiss the season goodbye if Holtby gets hurt, even more so than if Ovie went down.

Price and by far. I think many other individual loses could hurt like Subban and MaxPac but nothing would hurt more than the long term loss of Carey Price.

Jaden Schwartz has proven to be it for the Blues. Any time he's missed it puts the team in shambles.

Jaden Schwartz's head. This April. Coming to a Brent Seabrook elbow near you.

Ondrej Palat and it's not even close. He carries every line he plays on because of his iron will and tenacity. Kid goes straight the corners every single shift until he wins the puck. Sometimes he comes right up with it, sometimes it takes him the whole shift. But he pitbulls the opposition until we have possession. He is creative offensively, has a decent shot and backchecks like someone has a gun to his head. He can play with anyone and make them better because he is the best player on the ice at all times. Yes that includes Stamkos. Stammer doesn't dump the puck in from the blue line, chase after it and come up with it with 2 guys hanging on his back on a regular basis. And if Ondrej doesn't have the puck he separates from the opposition making himself open for a pass that can bail out a teammate about to lose the puck. Or if given the opportunity, he doesn't pass up the chance to shoot like Teddy Purcell used to. And lastly he's always backing up the play. Either's either joined in the heart of the offensive rush or he's the guy rushing back that neutralizes the odd man rush or simply is the one who breaks it up. To his credit, Kucherov does that a lot too.

It's that willingness to get your hands dirty that has enabled his linemates Kucherov and Johnson to be the beneficiaries the best +/- ratios in the league. The TKO line is never in their defensive zone because Ondrej makes sure of it and meanwhile Johnny and Kuch usually do the scoring. Occasionally a very intelligent secondary assist from Palat gets the play started.

There is absolutely no wasted motion from Palat. He is easily the most well rounded player on our team and the kid is gonna win a Selke one day if he keeps this up. If he's not nominated this year I'd be surprised.

You're right from what I've seen and he's basically identical to Schwartz.

I'd say Varly for the Avs, but Pickard has proven that he's quite capable to step in and shoulder the load. It's definitely EJ for me. The other "stars" this season aren't doing well, so if they get hurt, it's whatever, they're not producing anyway.

Id say Kane Keith or Hjalmarsson.
Toews is tempting, but without him we would have Richards, Teravainen, Shaw, Kruger as our centers, and we could win games with that.

The duo of Meszaros and Benoit. Wouldn't be where we are without them. They've been solid soldiers through this awful season. Benoit must feel slighted at the salary difference, but Meszaros has been a bit better for us.

Probably Holtby for the Caps. Ovie has been great this year, but the team is absurdly thin at G. Peters has been a disaster.

I would have said Varly without hesitation but Pickard stood up like a pro when Varly was hurt.. Erik Johnson has just been something last season and now he's hurt :shakehead

Between Rask and Chara it's probably tied. Bergeron or Krejci, too... but Soderberg could play well on the 2nd line.

Rask or Chara, though, curtain call.
