Well boys, the playoffs are upon us and our Georgia peach's first time at the rodeo went both very well, and terribly. Unfortunately, I lost my f***ing post so I have to retype everything. So here we go

In his first playoff outing, game 2 of the NLDS against the Reds in Philly, the same Reds who tagged him for 9 ER in his worst MLB start, Tainter rose to the occasion with gusto, pitching 7 innings of shutout ball while striking out 6 and allowing only 3 hits. His first 5.1 innings were perfect. The Phillies' offense couldn't come through for him however, exiting with during a scoreless tie and earning a ND, adding a single in for good measure at the plate. However, the Phils ended up pulling through late, taking a 2-0 series lead. The squad completed the sweep, and faced the formidable Dodgers in the NLCS.

Tainter threw the 3rd game of the NLCS in front of the home crowd with the Phillies down 2-0 in the series, desperate for a win. The 20 year old delivered. Staked to a 1-0 lead after the first, it was all he needed, firing a legendary complete game shutout, allowing 6 hits and striking out 7. The Phils rode the momentum and tied the series, though it ended up going 7 games. Heading back to LA with a trip to the World Series on the line, Jainter went toe to toe with Kershaw in a pitcher's duel. With the game scoreless in the 6th, Tainter's 2 out bleeder allowed Jean Segura the opportunity to take Kersh deep! Tainter took the 2-0 lead and pitched into the 8th, tossing a total of 7.1 strong behind 5 hits and 8 strikeouts, allowing only 1 run, an inherited runner in the 8th. The Phils shut the door in the 9th, and they're on their way to the World Series against the Yankees!!

Sorry for the blur. It was mid frame apparently and I had one shot here.

The World Series didn't start out as planned. Once again down 2-0, the Phillies turned to their young superstar, who served up a career best 10 Ks, sweet and syrupy, in his first ever WS appearance over 8 IP, allowing only 3 hits and no runs. With the Phils back in it, they were ready to force a game 7, where Tainter would have pitched at home, but they blew a save in the 9th and then lost it in the 14th :( That shit f***ing sucked.

2-0 with a ND in the playoffs allowing one singular run across the plate, we're looking at the birth of a legend. In the regular season, Tainter finished with a 14-3 record and pitched to a 2.53 ERA and a 0.98 WHIP over 224.1 innings, allowing only 21 walks and striking out 110. Work. Horse.

The campaign earned his first big money extension with the Phillies, who offered him 7.5mil per year over 5 years. Humbly, Tainter declined and countered with 3 yrs x 7 mil, which the Phillies agreed. The entire squad is still together this season, and hopefully the boys can run it back in 2021

I'm all caught up.

I wonder if one day Tainter will become a multi-sport pro, like Michael Jordan or Dion Sanders. That could be a very interesting twist.

I'm also now seriously considering getting a country breakfast for dinner, for some strange reason.

Kicking off the Phils' 2021 season, the squad went 1-9 in their first 10, and it wasn't because of our hero. In his first outing of the campaign, Tainter delivered 6 innings of 5 hit ball, surrendering only 1 run and striking out 5. Unfortunately, a blown save cost both he and his team the win. His second start saw only 2 ER cross the plate while scattering 11 hits over 6 innings. Again, like in real life, the Phillies' bullpen blew the save and cost the team and Tainter a win.

Desperate for a win, the Phillies again turned to their ace. 9 innings later, Tainter spun a complete game shutout. After surrendering 2 singles to the first 2 hitters of the game, TJ retired 25 out of the next 27 batters he faced- he gave up only 1 hit and 1 walk thereafter, while striking out 11 and walking 1. Finally off the schneid it was time to get the squad rolling. Sure enough, his next outing netted another win, allowing only 3 hits and 2 ER over 6 innings while striking out 5 and walking 1.

Then, it happened. Tainter Jainter- the Georgia Peach- The Country Breakfast- pitched a no hit no run game against the Marlins in a 7-0 win with a career high in strikeouts. Of note, he got beaned in the back in the 8th inning. Classy move by the Marlins there. Tainter is the youngest pitcher to ever throw a no hitter since 1901, and the second youngest since Amos Rusie in 1891

Gentlemen.

Tainter is a World Series champion

Getting the ball in game 6 against the Red Sox, Tainter delivered a masterful CGSO, striking out Rafeal Devers with his patented knucklecurve to to record the last out. JT was the first to embrace him on the mound. The rest of the dogpile followed.

Leading up to this, Tainter again had one hell of season. Setting a career high 15 wins (and 4 losses) and pitching to a sub 1.89 ERA and a sub 0.94 WHIP over 230.1 IP, at one point in the season Jainter gave up only 2 runs over a span of 30 innings (4 starts, including one CGSO with 10 K). The campaign saw the Country Breakfast cook up 3 hits in 4 ABs in one game, including a double and an RBI. The Phillies, who started slow if you recall, clawed all the way back from 9 games back of the division leading Mets at the all star break by tearing through the summer months. In september, the squad lost only 6 games including a sweep of the Mets to tie atop the division. Coming down to the final series against the Marlins, Tainter, in the 2nd to last game, threw a 97 pitch CG 6 hitter, allowing only 1 run, 1 walk, and striking out 10. Coupled with a Mets loss, this win put them at the top of the division for the first time all season with only 1 game remaining.

Sure enough, the lead held. The Mets, who lost a wild card play in game to the play in game, didn't even make the playoffs after leading the division almost wire to wire after being handed an L in their 163rd game. A blessing for the Phils, this allowed their ace an extra day of rest, meaning he was able to pitch in the first playoff game in their best of 5 showdown vs the Cardinals. As you'd expect, Tainter rose to the occasion with a CGSO, allowing 6 hits, 1 walk, and striking out 8. At the plate, he helped himself with a single, an SB (YUP, HE HAS 7 SPEED I DON'T KNOW HOW EITHER) and a run scored.

Dismantling the Padres in 5 games with Tainter earning a game 3 ND in the win, throwing 6 strong and allowing 2 ER, the stage was set for the Tainter's first ever world series appearance. The 22 year old shined brighter than perhaps any pitcher in World Series history. Tainter flirted with history in each of his 2 WS starts. Game 2 saw Tainter throw 4 innings of no hit ball before surrendering a single before JT gunned the would be base stealer down. Retiring the next 2 batters in order, Tainter would go on to face the minimum through 7 innings. In the 8th, he ran into trouble- he was pulled with 1 out and runners on 1st and 3rd, but his bullpen held. In the 9th, the Phils converted the save and took a 2-0 series lead.

In game 6, in his biggest start to date, he threw 5.1 no hit innings to begin the game before surrendering a solo HR and a single on back to back pitches. The young hurler bunkered down, however inducing a double play and striking out the next batter to end the frame with only 1 run allowed. The next half inning saw his squad take a 5-1 lead! After a shutdown inning in the top of the 7th, 3 more runs were added by the Phils in the bottom half of the frame, all but guaranteeing destiny. With little trouble, Tainter converted, and our hero completed his complete game series clincher.

The 2022 season, Tainter's final contract year with the Phils, is one to be excited about. The squad is actually better- in the offseason they acquired the services of 94 OVR Wilson Contreras, who ended up being a better hitter (including 94 contact vs lefties) and fielder than JT, who is now relegated to backup duties. I know lol. The offensive lineup remains the same, including the twin towers of Harper and Hoskins. Moreover, the bullpen upgraded as well, with 5 pitchers at 88 OVR or better, and everyone over 80 OVR. Let's run it back, boys.

Well gentlemen...do I have an update for you.

Tainter, in his age 23 season last year, batted .383 with a homer and 4 RBI. He won the Silver Slugger.
On the bump, he turned in 21 wins and 4 losses over 210 innings. He struck out 192 to the tune of a 2.12 ERA and 0.89 WHIP. He won the Cy Young. He won the MVP. He won a second consecutive World Series.

It can't get much better than that.

Except it has. At the ALL STAR BREAK, Tainter has posted 159K in ONE HUNDRED AND SIXTY ONE INNINGS. He has NINE complete game shutouts. His ERA is 0.64 and his WHIP is 0.63. He's given up a whopping 11 earned runs and 5 homers. He's walked more batters than he's allowed to score.

We are rolling. My brother has been taking the reigns recently, but I aim to get back in the fold soon.

Our protagonist is destroying the competition.

This is the saddest look I've ever seen from a sports video game character. He's on first base, and all poor Bobo can think about is the Daily Struggle.

Its his first hit in the minors. He's never been here before. He's terrified. He wants to go back to home plate. He knew home. He understood it.

It's even worse in motion. He has no idea what to do next. He looks around, terrified for any direction, but isn't able to find someone who will tell him what happens next. And he's absolutely terrified of what happens next.

Back to back CGSO 14 K outings.

One was a 5 hitter. The next?

A zero hitter. 1 walk. His second career no hit no run game, as Harry Kalas would say.

The Phillies squad is 90-50. TJ is 22-0 with a 1.00 era, 0.49 WHIP, and 245 K over 242.2 innings. It's September 3rd. Good luck.
